HBO Poll: Playing The Lottery

What started out as a very difficult week for a St. Maries woman, now has a silver lining. Frankie Masterson recently learned her grandson had been seriously wounded while serving in Afghanistan. In an unusual twist of luck, Frankie learned Sunday that she was holding a Powerball ticket worth $200,000.  Her ticket matched five numbers, but not the Powerball. Frankie’s grandson, a U.S. marine, stepped on a roadside bomb last week and is recovering from his wounds stateside in an East Coast medical facility/KTVB. More here.

  • Tuesday Poll: 64 of 104 (61.5%) of the respondents said they are either very concerned or somewhat concerned that 23% of high school seniors in Coeur d’Alene smoke pot. 13 of 104 (13%) said “more power to them.”
