FlorineD:
I’m happy to hear that another blogfest is planned. But the Hoffman/Gookin theory of economics would suggest to the SR that “recognition” is not a legitimate business expense. Yea, yea, I hear them howling that there’s a difference between private industry finance and tax funds. But I say that the “city” is a business, not a clutch of volunteers. And recognition is a time-honored way to foster morale. So, I’ll attempt to be humble and gracious as I accept my pizza; and I’ll spring for some suds for the blogmeister.
Question: Have you ever been recognized for something by your employee?

Many times…
collected $250 because I never missed a days work in 2 years (the award was for 2 years but I actually did 5 years with out calling in.)
that and the raise in pay because I would beyond the job itself.. rest were paper and pins.

Florine springing for some suds for the blogmeister, you better come if you have never before. It’s an event where you can actually meet who you talk to each day, unless that frightens you of course. See you there.
