I have a friend in Miami who just left the Miami Herald after 30 years as a reporter. I sometimes copy off the scanner reports and send them to him, to give him the idea of how it is up here. Being in Miami, and having been a reporter, you can imagine his frame of reference. He thinks we live in Mayberry.
