Two inmates at the Asotin County Jail were scratched off the naughty list Monday and granted an early release for the holidays. This is an annual event known as the Barabbas release and is orchestrated by Superior Court Judge William Acey, Prosecutor Benjamin Nichols and jail staff. Kable L. Gunter, 35, and Shannon D. Tuschoff, 45, had their sentences commuted after they were selected by Capt. Jon Singleton, jail commander, and their cases were reviewed by Nichols and submitted to Acey for final approval/Brandon Macz, Lewiston Tribune. More here.
Question: Dunno if Kootenai County still has the same policy that it once did (under Judge Gene Marano?) But do you agree with allowing an inmate or two out of jail for Christmas?

Most don't even need to be there, so yes, I would hope some of them can spend the holidays with family.
