Huckleberries Online

New Poll Style

I interrupt my Christmas vacation to bring you the following Huckleberries Online PSA (public service announcement). Blogmeister Ryan has provided a new spot for the weekdaily polls — in the upper corner of the left rail. I asked him to do so to make the polls more visible. They tend to settle to the bottom of the main thread in the afternoon. Now, they’ll be on top all day. Ryan tested the new poll by using the question from the last one I published before vacation: “Are you better off today than you were 10 years ago?” That attracted 20 more answers before I subbed in the new question for today. The final total was: 50% (74 of 147) voted that they are better off today. 41% of 147 voted that they’re worst off. And 8% (12 of 147) said that they are the same now as they were at the beginning of the decade. You’ll see that today’s question compares the late-night safety of the downtowns in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane.
