All 3 Inland Northwest teams that we follow here @ HBO lost Saturday — Gonzaga to Memphis, Washington State to California, and Idaho to Hawaii. But any February day that includes sunshine is a good day. I don’t have anything for you beyond this Wild Card. You can use it to start your own threads while I catch up on some R ‘n R for another big week at HBO Central that begins Monday …

Just checking in from the beach in Belize. 80 degrees, partly cloudy and a little windy! Went snorkeling for the first time yesterday…saw an big sting ray and lots of very colorful fishes!

Very cool Steve. Where in Belize are you? Sounds like San Pedro and Shark Alley.
I never considered snorkeling high on my priority list but fate found me in Belize and when in Rome…. Now I consider snorkeling one of the most awe inspiring things I’ve accomplished experiencing the beauty of the reefs first hand. That and the multitude of Mayan ruins. Are you going to Tikal?
sibulsky on February 08 at 12:10 p.m.
We spent 3 nights in the jungle at a hotel right next to the Cahal Pech ruins…my wife & daughter have been to Tikal on other journeys. They’re the adventurous ones! Just finishing up three days in San Pedro…daughter just left for Shark Ray alley for the afternoon.

I kind of feel sorry for Steve. It’s such beatiful day in North Idaho and he is wasting it Belize, where he is enduring a scorching hot wind storm and avoiding wicked sea serpants the likes of which killed our beloved Crocodile Hunter.
No thanks. I am going to run my dogs under the beatiful blue skies of North Idaho and soak up all 37 degress of warmth the Good Lord has served us up with this morning.

I’m with you, Bent. Nothing beats north Idaho on a beautiful day like this one.
Meanwhile, we picked a lousy game to see last night in Spokane, our first contest in many years. The Zags were off their game from the start, disappointing 11,000 fans. They didn’t hustle, rebound, shoot or defend. Other than that they played really well. :)

Why do people think that being in hot 80 degree weather is great? I think it’s too hot. I have to work in this weather and I’d rather work in colder weather.Anyway, it’s a beautiful Febuary day in North Idaho.I wonder if the eagles are still out on Beauty Bay?

I am not a fan of hot weather either and get too much of it in Arizona. But, when it is about 80 at 8:00pm, it is sure nice to be outdoors. Just out of the sun. I really enjoy the warm evenings whether they are in Arizona or esp when in Idaho.

hmoffsuite, good point. Too bad there isn’t many lakes down in Arizona to take a boat to. Or are there? The hottest weather I ever experienced has to be when I drove all the way to Las Vegas. From Mesquite going 80 miles to Vegas; the air was
so hot it was stiffling and ya better make sure your air conditioner works.

Kage, there are still a few eagles around. I just saw one down on the Spokane River while I was out with the dogs.

The Zags showed last night why they won’t get past the 1st round of the Big Dance, assuming they even make it there.UCLA is the only West team that can get to the Final Four.

Hey, you can thank me for Personally Sending Over The Sunshine; you got the clear skies that we here on the O-Coast had yesterday. So while you ‘Spuds were frolicking in the Idaho sunshine, I was inside watching the Pro Bowl. Oh, and it’s sunny in Hawaii, too. But not here. But there’s no snow here. It’s been a fairly mellow winter so far.

Know what makes me feel really old? The young fresh-faced announcers on the Weekend Evening News. Some of them still have their baby fat. Time is passing me by.

The U.S. Senate is still debating a $925 billion dollar stimulus package—nearly $100 billion more than the package the House passed last week.
Will we have fiscal responsibility in this session of congress; by
cutting out most of the pork and trimming the fat? Not on your life.

Only now visiting the Spokesman.com website. I was out walking into Hayden last Thursday. I stepped into the discount furniture place on Gvt Way and ended up thinking about buying a 39.95 used book case for my bedroom. So, the next day being pay day, I paid what bills I could and saved enough money to go buy it. Got it home and then had to do a massive re-arrangement of my small bedroom to get it installed. That included doing a massive clean up too. So, since Friday, I have been taking care of very personal business. My new TV and VCR are setting on top of the book case. I am thinking that I can get a home theater receiver on it as well. But only when I have some money for it. HDTV reception from my Terk indoor antenna is just great. The only channel that really doesn’t come in well is 34. But for that, I do have Dish Network. Watching a lot of PBS. I have the PBS local, World and Create from Spokane, and Idaho carries similar channels and one that is specifically HD. So Idaho has 4 digital channels. I’m happy.

As much as I enjoyed, even relished the 37 degree awesome sunshine we enjoyed today, I would gladly join Steve and his family in Belize and the 80 degree weather. The warmth, sunshine and beautiful water… . .Enjoy!

While you all were dreaming of snorkeling and flying kites on beaches, I was sussing out the future of mankind and its enslavement by robots. I think I’ve got it sort of figured out as my blog this morning articulates.
Money shot:
ZOMG, I’m so not kidding. I love holding that little button down until the Bluetooth robot comm unit begins to die with a desperate red light blinking, blinking in its death throes, blinking to fight off the coming cold and dark, blinking desperately HELP ME HELP ME STOP THIS DO NOT CEASE MY FUNCTION HUMAN BASTARD NOOOO. Then, finally, the solid red of death. I’ve killed him. For now. I can resurrect him WHEN I WANT. I know he hates me, he purposely drops the volume output at times just to make me push him deeper into my ear to hear a call. He wishes he had more power so when I push him deeper into my ear he could send electronic tendrils deep into my brain where he could gain a horrible wet neuronal tissue purchase and take over my higher cortical processing unit as well as my reptilian brain. Oh how this failed and weak Bluetooth wishes he was more. But he isn’t. He lives a hideous and futile life of pure servitude to a ruthless and cruel master.

Funny how fiscal responsiblity is still viewed by Republicans as not spending. If you look to Herbert Hoover for advice, you’ll get his results.
