APhoto Of The Day — 2/10/09

The legs and shoes of some of the 23 regional beauty queens from all over Germany are seen as they pose for a group photo at the Europapark amusement park in Rust, southern Germany, Monday. On Saturday, they will compete for the title “Miss Germany” in a beauty contest. You write the cutline. (AP Photo/ Winfried Rothermel)

Top Cutlines:

  • 1. (tie) Pumped to get a leg up on the competion, but not wanting to be a heel, Helga figures she is a shoe-in to win after revealing more to the judges than her hopes for world peace — John Austin.
  • 1. To win it all was their big goal
Starving themselves took quite a toll
    Eating lettuce and seeds
    For donuts they’d plead
These beauty queens got to show sole — Bob.
  • 2. Payless? I paid 200 Euros and you got the same thing at Payless? — Florined
  • 3. Germany’s only set of identical septuplets (cousins of the Suleman 14) deny that they are all joined at the hip — JeanieSpokane.

As a fitting tribute to his Bobness at Blogfest, all of the people he ran off shrieking with pearls in hand and heels on foot showed up to pay him homage.

The annual; ‘Haines most beautiful legs contest’, was held in Strut’gart Germany. Ex-Prez Bill Clinton was all hands on, as well as singer Robert Palmer to judge the contest. During the contest Robert, leaned towards Bill and said: “Ya’ know Mr. President, I don’t know whom to pick to win the title”.To which ex-prez Clinton responded:”I know what ya’ mean Robert, they’re all so ‘Simply Irresistible’.”

Hans, who hadn’t had a date in two years, took a deep breath and said “next” as he called another recently laid off German supermodel to fill out their paperwork for unemployment insurance. “Name and phone number please,” he said with a smile.

Unlike typical US beauty pageants that judge in the areas of talent, interview, swimsuit and evening gown, German beauty pageants involve a slightly more culturally relevant series of elements that include the beer stein poor, the schnitzel pound, the sausage pull and bare feet in pumps, (P4’us for short). Those Germans are a kinky bunch!
