Crooks: A-Roid’s Wild Pitch

To recap, when Alex Rodriguez was in Seattle, he’d never even heard of players using steroids. But when he got to Texas, he was immediately embroiled in a “loosey-goosey era.” Wow, that has to be the quickest entrance for any era in history. One day, he’s completely clueless, the next he’s caught up in a culture where seemingly everyone is getting an unmarked stimulus package. Tough break. If only Seattle had media outlets back then, so Rodriguez could keep up with the latest news/Gary Crooks, SR Smart Bombs. More here.

Question: What do you think of Alex Rodriguez’s attempt to squirm out of his steroid scandal? In other words, are you buying anything he says?

No. “I was young”? Dude, it was just five years ago! You’re STILL young! “I was stupid?” Dude, if you think we’ll buy this “I was young” stuff just five years later, you’re STILL stupid! (Although granted, it probably is a different era, thanks to the new rules, the Congressional scrutiny, and the Mitchell report.)

If A-Rod says he’s sorry, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. And I do believe that he wasn’t on drugs in Seattle or NYY, so it was a limited thing - still, it does erase his best years and stains his reputation.

My stance on the players is this: if you apologize and haven’t done the drugs in awhile, like Giambi awhile back, you should be allowed to keep playing, but be kept from the Hall of Fame.

With a straight face, A-Rod lied to the MSM. I would suggest to A-Rod, don’t hold your breath for the Hall. You could be outside with Barry, Pete, Roger and others. Was it worth it?

    A-Rod…an Empty Vessel.
