Gas Prices Close In On $2 Again

Gas attendant Scott Mathews pumps gas at DiBacco’s Service Center Tuesday in Beverly, Mass. Oil prices dropped below $36 Tuesday, with rising supplies and inventories offsetting expectations of further OPEC production cuts. (AP Photo/Lisa Poole)

Question: Any guesses re: how high prices will go this time?

I’m betting to the $3 mark.

That’s Ironic, huh? I just read how oil just fell below $35 a barrel. Gasoline futures were trading at $1.11 per gallon…

It’s sad. I get such good mileage on my car that I managed to get gas one time at $1.49. It’s over $2.00 in the Valley (but since nobody wants to talk about Spokane Valley, I’ll just pretend I didn’t say that)

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks driving around on the $1.79 gas I bought a while back, but I gotta go to the gas station tomorrow. So I urge everyone to take the following action: Buy a tankful, then DON’T GO ANYWHERE for, say, two or three days, you know, just long enough to drive the prices down again.

And whatever you do, if you own a Dodge Ram pickup, just stay off the roads altogether. What is it about Ram Drivers? They’re always trying to drive up my trunk, those big ugly Monster Trucks that look like a Battleship On Wheels…honestly, Dodge Ram Drivers are the most DISCOURTEOUS drivers in the Universe…

I’m with Marmite, rolling me eyes and shaking me head. Thanks, Melody, priceless in more ways than you can imagine.

I’m hoping for maybe $5 or more, maybe then we will wake up.

It will improve the chances of Obama’s stimulus package that includes the development of alternate energy vehicles. People will be more inclined to buy them because they can no longer afford the gas. Tired last night, or I might have commented then.
