MikeK @ 40

Shazam! I almost forgot. Put your hands together for the paterfamilia of the ever-growing Coeur d’Alene Kennedys. Councilman MikeK, the fifth hobbit, and all around good guy turned the Big 4-0 today. Or at least that’s what a little birdie told me this morning.

Happy BDAY MikeK…you remember meeting me at the Riverstone Starbucks last fall as you walked out the door when I did?

Happy Birthday, Mike ! The big 4-0 signals the day where you need to have your first prostate exam. I believe that there is a special section in the yellow pages that lists doctors with skinny fingers. Have fun!

    Happy Birthday Mike.

Another milestone. Now, you’re old enough to be protected by laws that prohibit discrimination based on age.

Not quite like hitting 21, is it?

Happy Birthday Mike. May the hair on your toes, never fall out. Walk the road, my friend.

Happy B-Day Mike. The 40’s go by in a blink so take many pix.

    …wait a minute. You’re only a year older than me? Man…

  • Stickman on February 17 at 1:55 p.m.

Happy Birthday Mike, it was a pleasure meeting you in the past year.

Don’t ever trust little birdies - they tend to drop messes everywhere. This business of being 40 is much easier when I consider that I have the body of a 60 year old. So really I’m 20 years younger than I think - what a deal!

Seriously thanks - Stickman I still need to make it over to your place for a beverage. Keith I definitely remember you - it was nice meeting you. Toad - you sound shocked, and that hurts :-)
Helen and EE and Wheels - I keep hearing that the 40s are the great decade. I hope my kids let that be the case!

I’ll be celebrating tonight with an exciting debate on Tree Care Standard Practices, BLM annexations, and LCDC presentations, among other things. My parents surprised me by coming into town from Florida, so they’ll be there, too.

MikeK, let me know when you head over to Stickman’s I’ll meet you there because it is probably time to restock him.

    Happy B-day!

BTW, when I turned 40 my eyes went to heck in handbasket. No kidding. I have never had vision problems, but I turnned 40 and whamo…I’m shelling out $400 for a pair of TRI-focals.

Yes, that’s right “tri” focals. Not only did my eyes go bad overnight, they went bad in three different ways…go figure.

All I can say is, “wish I could turn 4-0 again”. I’d do a whole lotta things differently, but those were good years just the same. During my ‘40s, I was a runner, and had some great experiences in shorter local races as well as several marathons. I had the heart of an athlete but the body of a couch potato. And the couch seems to be winning these days. So, Mr. K,, this could be one of your best decades yet.

  • Cis on February 17 at 5:36 p.m.

The old saying was that life starts at 40… they lied… actually life starts when your youngest one goes out the door on their own… Which means you have a heck of a long time to go yet. lol..
Happy Birthday, Mike… you are only as old as you feel…some mornings that is 8 and some mornings that is 80…

  • Cindy_H on February 17 at 7:50 p.m.

    Happy BD Mike!
Bent, I’m glad it was just your eyes that went bad in three different ways.
