Procto Exam Wild Card — 2/20/09

Before I give a brief rundown re: news items this morning, I’d like you to join me in wishing ThomG a happy birthday today. Dunno how many years young. My researchers — spies — tell me that ThomG didn’t reveal that info on his Facebook profile. How old do you think he is? While you guess, I’ll play the Wild Card, and give the morning news roundup here: The New York Post has apologized for the chimp cartoon that some linked to Obama here. The critics predict the big Oscar winners here. Airports are testing the full body scanner here. Obama still owes $1.74M for Chicago victory bash here. And Rush Limbaugh tells President Obama to keep the airwaves free here.

    I’d guess 52. Possibly 53 today!

    Gosh, duffer… I wouldn’t go that old. His kids aren’t even 20 yet. I’d say 45.

Surprise, surprise! The dow is down another 200 pts today. Do I sound like a broken record? It is. We are now at levels that were last seen in about 1992. Yes, that is much lower than after the internet bubble burst in 1999 and 2000. Wonder why this is happening? It is because of the very inept actions of the Obama administration in general and the lack of responsibility by our Secretary of the Treas. His inability to present a plan for the use of the remaining TARP funds from the first round. Specifically, how our banking system will be addressed The uncertainty is what is killing the financial markets which is something that will trickle down and effect everyone. If Obama would have stayed home and worked on this instead of making the big show in Denver and Mesa this week, maybe something could have been accomplished. This situation is a reflection on how ill prepared he was to become our President, IMO. My opinion, Thom, not Rush’s or anyone else. And, btw, happy birthday. (mine was yesterday but I don’t acknowledge them anymore)

I have proof that CindyH has a very dark side. She just e-mailed this me: “I had a homemade egg McMuffin for breakfast. It was great. The cheese was all gooey and the Canadian bacon nice and salty. And boy does my coffee taste extra good this morning, or what?” If I ever get out of this …

Don’t you think the HBO @ Noon question should be “What did you have for breakfast this morning?”

I do. Or maybe “What’s for lunch?”
How ‘bout a nice glass of tepid tapwater? Yummy :-)

Happy Birthday Thom, you’re still a young man.

  • hhuseland on February 20 at 2:53 p.m.

I tried to stifle the urge to say, “What’s up, Dave,” but I just couldn’t. My bad.

“I tried to stifle the urge to say, “What’s up, Dave,”” - Herb.

    Oh my.. that’s funny.

    What’s up Dave, indeed!

While Dave’s having his dignity removed this afternoon, I thought I’d share something refreshing from the Religious Right that I haven’t seen linked here yet. Forgive me if it’s old news:

    Thoughts?
