One has to wonder about two things. One, as accused of selling Coke, was that between him and students? and two, How can a school be so dense as to leave a banner like that up in the face of what he as allegedly done.

I don’t believe in kicking this guy when he is down. He’s got to be living in a private hell all his own. He is a good man who has done good things for this community. He has been convicted of NOTHING.

You are right fishwife, he has been convicted of nothing. But that doesnt mean he hasnt committed crimes and potenially some very serious ones. Doing things for your community does not excuse illegal behavior. Sounds as if he has been under the microscope for sometime. If he is living a private hell, it is of his own doing.. In time we will know the whole story and chances are it wont be pretty.

Here’s a question: Let’s assume a booster is convicted of major felonies but still has a history of service and commitment in support of Coeur d’Alene High School. His criminal behavior and his booster activities never had cross over and were mutually exclusive. Is it still problematic that he has been honored in the past at the high school for his philanthropy?

Since Mr. Carlson hasn’t been convicted (yet) then of course the above question is hypothetical in nature.

This trusted individual seemed to be involved in activities that were in conflict with who he said he was as an insurance agent and as a school supporter. I’m all for rehab and forgiveness but there must be consequences for the trust broken between he and his community and his insurance clients not to mention his employees. I have not heard him denying anything publicly or privately.
