Blogfest ‘09 Coming Soon

Above, guests at Blogfest ‘08 enjoy Doug Clark’s singing as part of the annual pizza-and-pop get together. Time has flown. And another Blogfest has almost arrived. If you’re a blogger, commenter or blurker at Huckleberrie Online, you’re invited to Blogfest ‘09 at MoonDollars (Dickinson Insurance building) on Syringa/Post Falls. It’ll run from noon to 3 p.m. JeanieSpokane, CindyH, Bent & crew have prepared special awards to observe good work — or not — over the last year. I’ll post directions again between now and then.

Question: Are you coming to Blogfest ‘09?

I’m hoping to. Depends on if the kids are driving my wife crazy…

  • DFO on February 26 at 9:11 a.m.

    Nic; bring the kids.

  • Cabbage Boy on February 26 at 9:35 a.m.

:( for me too. If, IF, the tourney ends soon enough, I might catch the end.

  • MikeK on February 26 at 9:36 a.m.

OK - I’m going to have to make major league time to go from Mullan to Post Falls - spanning almost the entire width of the Panhandle - to make it this year. My kids are in their free ski school at Lookout Pass, and the last class ends at 1 pm, with lingering and dawdling, so I’ll do my best to get there by 3. Bummer on the timing, but this is a weekly commitment that I don’t miss with the kids. I’ll cross my fingers but not break any speed limits along the way… :-)

  • JeanC on February 26 at 9:53 a.m.

Yup, I’ll be there with my cameras so I can record Blogfest ‘09 for posterity :D And I’ll be dragging hubby along.

  • JeanieSpokane on February 26 at 10:09 a.m.

I am going and just a little waiver here. Cindy and I are NOT singing or tap dancing or baton twirling or anything to try to replace Doug Clark’s entertainment. I suggest you drink a lot of beer for about an hour until you are seeing double vision and then you won’t care that we aren’t singing, tap dancing, or twirling batons. Lots and lots of beer.

It looks like I’ll finally make one of these this time. Thanks for scheduling it after Presidents’ Day weekend. I’m looking forward to it even though my wife burst out laughing when I said I wanted to go. What’s with that?

  • Digger on February 26 at 10:15 a.m.

Yep - I’ll be there. Spazz is working JazzFest in Moscow so he will be unable to attend. But JeanC, her hubby and myself will represent Moscow!

Moscow Mindoka - care to ride up with us? There’s one seat left in my Tahoe.

  • Tumblewords on February 26 at 10:22 a.m.

Sorry. It doesn’t look like I’ll be there but I’ll be thinking about you!

  • Digger on February 26 at 11:17 a.m.

Sadly, Bent (Indy), I won’t be able to stay this year because I’ve got a birthday party to be to back in Moscow around 5PM. Dang it - I was hoping that maybe this year would be the year I could hang out with the cool kids at the BlogFest after party.

  • JohnA on February 26 at 11:34 a.m.

MikeK, good on you for putting your kids’ skiing ahead of anything else. I learned to ski at Lookout in the early ‘60s. It’s great to see that some things, like a free ski school, are still around.

Meanwhile, if you take full advantage of the 75-mph speed limit from Wallace to Rose Lake you should make it easily to Blogfest. :)

    Hope to see you there.

  • Arpie on February 26 at 11:45 a.m.

Mike, If I know you’re coming, I’ll hang out long enough to have that long promised beer with you.

  • inlandempiregirl on February 26 at 1:00 p.m.

I wish I could be there! Unfortunately I’ll be across the border at a conference in Spokane. The times just didn’t match. Maybe next year!

  • tarynahecker on February 26 at 2:33 p.m.

Skinny party of 3 will be there.

  • DFO on February 26 at 2:37 p.m.

Taryn; next to Trish Gannon in her condom dress, I look forward to seeing you and the Skinny 3. Any chance to bring Erica Curless with you?

  • Cis on February 26 at 3:05 p.m.

    I am passing this time
I have a date with a handsome man… because Sat. is going to be sunny.. and we are going to try to find the magic spot for the antenna so we can get tv and drop cable.
So it is going out to breakfast to calm our nerves before we start… and then, if we haven’t killed each other… …. well, I will probably blog about it next week…

    Have fun you all..

  • florined on February 26 at 5:12 p.m.

The problem is not wanting to MISS anybody who shows up. This means arriving early and leaving late. And, see, that leads to (how shall I phrase this), uh, potential excess, which has been known in the past, in far lands, to lead to indecorous behavior on the part of the short-and-wide one. It’s one thing to not be welcomed ever again in that tavern below the castle in Heidelberg. Or even that saloon in Trout Creek, Montana. But I might want to go back to Moon Dollars some day for lunch! Expanding to 3 hours has its drawbacks.

  • JBelle on February 26 at 5:16 p.m.

uh, florine? can I hang with you?

(smiling admiringly at getting booted IN GERMANY. florine brings it.)

  • Bent on February 26 at 5:32 p.m.

I’ll be there too, and I too will wait for MikeK to arrive. I live in Post Falls so I can stumble home if I have to. Dang it, Digger maybe it’ll work out this summer to have an impromtu Blogfest/camping trip (Kevin Taylor is in charge of the fireworks) if Marimite can make it across the pond…

  • Stickman on February 26 at 8:25 p.m.

Cis: I will miss spending a moment with you as I have in the past. I have always enjoyed your company and your comments. Maybe next year. Hopefully.
