Was reading in the CDA Press letters section responses to a “poll” that the Press had given out. Which “right” would you be prepared to give up. The irony of two letters, one from Steven Armstrong and Vermont Trotter; is that they DEPENDED upon the first amendment—freedom of the press, in order to defend the second. But they’d put the second—as a defense against a “tyrannical gvt” ahead of the first. But, if the newspaper wasn’t allowed to publish their particular rants, they would indeed HAVE a tyrannical gvt. And without a doubt, right after that, would be without their “gun rights” too. M.A. Steele goes one step further and claims that not only is the Press anti-gun but also so is Obama and that BOTH would try to take away the guns as well as any other right. Did Obama actually say that he would take away guns? No. Did the Press poll ACTUALLY say that? No.

But it doesn’t take much for “the fearful” to misread in its entirety, the intent of the poll.

Which would you voluntarily give up, the first amendment or the second.

Neither. The first is proof that we have a free state and the second is the guarantees as to its PROTECTION.

Wouldn’t it be nice if “the fearful” weren’t also extremely ignorant.

Off topic, but, my Jacob has just gone off to his leavers dinner and dance, which is like your doodle prom, he is all suited and booted and looks like the cat that got the cream…….. james bond comes to mind………. as the car drove off, a black polished soft top Audio convertible with the top down, Im sobbing like a lunatic……. why, I do not know, just such mixed emotions……. maybe cos my baby has now left compulsary school just 2 weeks after his 16th birthday, or that my baby looked all grown up…….

I opened a bottle of posh bubbly which they all had a glass of before leaving, (I know I know they are all only 16, but 16 year olds do drink over here) to cheer their friendships and their life ahead…….now that just leaves me to finish off the other 2 bottles of bubbly, mixed with me painkillers lol it could be quite a ride tonight :)

Boathouse Number 7 in the Naval Dockyard is the well posh ‘do’ he is going to……. then he has two after prom parties to go to……. bless his little cotton socks….. :)

CNN is reporting that Governor Sarah Palin will NOT run for re-election…

Well, duh. Being governor would distract her from the 2012 prez election campaign.

nic. She likely figured that rather than being a Governor, she would retire from that position and become a community organizer. Seems all the liberals like that job experience better than a real governing job and it might help her if she seeks another office. :~)

C’mon Nick, you can’t trust the liberal media. It’s just not true until Drudge says its true. ;-)

Bizarre. Seems to be a news dump. Is it a leak in conjunction with a bigger announcement? Is she eking this out to dominate a news cycle over the holiday weekend and capitalize on her tea bagging base? Did she get some polling that showed she was going to lose her shirt? Is she gonna take on Murkowski? She’d lose that race too. While polarizing, the base loves her.

no running for re election??? She’s actually resigning.

Don’t know how many of you are ” out there” doing stuff for the 4th of for just any day but here is a heads up - PLEASE DO NOT USE YOU CELL PHONE IN THE GROCERY STORE OR THE GAS LINE WHEN OTHER PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FUNCTION AS WELL.

There I feel much better now and won’t have to “literally” go out and kick some idiots ass today:)
