2nd Burglary Suspect Arrested

A second suspect in a possible Coeur d'Alene residential burglary surrendered to CPD Blue at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to police spokeswoman Christie Wood. In a news release, Wood said that Jake Smith, 18, of Hayden. Allegedly, Smith was involved in a possible burglary of a Margaret Avenue home in which the homeowner shot another suspect in the arm with a revolver. Shae A. Crump, 24, of Coeur d'Alene, was arrested for burglary after seeking treatment for the wound at the Kootenai Medical Center emergency room. Local police are still seeking the third suspect in the shooting: Eli Skalak, 29, of Coeur d'Alene. The homeowner said he found three men standing at his open sliding door after being awakened by his dog. He fired a shot when it appeared that they would attack him.
