On this day in history: In 1752, Benjamin Franklin flew a kite for the first time to demonstrate that lightning is a form of electricity. In 1968, U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy was mortally shot in Los Angeles by Sirhan Sirhan. Kennedy died early the next morning. In 1998, C-Span reported that Bob Hope had died. The report was false and had began with an inaccurate obituary on the Associated Press Web site. In 1934, TV journalist Bill Moyers in Hugo, Okla. Today is World Environment Day. In the news today: A Gallup Poll shows that former veep Dick Cheney is slightly more popular than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi here. And your Wild Card is in play …

If I understand right, once an unemployed person quits looking or has run out of benefits, they are no longer counted as a statistic, so could the unemployed rate be 15-20% instead of 9.4%? Heard Joe Biden on the news talking about a second porkulus program.

Does anyone here ever check out the “A Matter of Opinion” blog? Did Crooks lose a bet? There's really no other explanation as to why puts up with the unrelenting Obama birth certificate tinfoilery.
It's really too bad, because beyond that, the blog occassionally produces some interesting discussions.
Not that I'm encouraging anyone to ever read anything but HBO. : )

Wow, here's a crowd who gratefully chuckled when Rush played Obama the magic negro, and here they are demanding Obama wave a magic wand. The jobless rate was 200,000 below projections last month signaling some recovery and still yer griping about stimulus. What you should be griping about is the TARP program but apparently socialism for fat cats is alright with you guys? I know I've asked before, but since time has passed maybe now you or your party has come up with a plan? I'll look around. RNC says no. Congressional Republicans, nothing. Oops, not quite, they found a couple hundred million they wanna take from school infrastructure. Idaho Republicans seem to be in some family counseling. It appears the party of no is still as bankrupt of ideas as they have been for the last eight years and look where that got us.
Kage, explain again how supporting Israel is in America's interests? This is lost on me. They have nothing we need. Nothing. Yet they are the biggest recipient of foreign aid. I thought you hated welfare.

I am still fuming that President Obama got us into bed with General Motors. I think it's a huge mistake. Companies fail. GM failed cause they make crap vehicles. Let them die.
Obama is a great story teller. Peak behind the curtain and you see there's not much there.
I know the adoring throngs on the left bank here could never utter a negative about Obama. Their tongue would bleed and their eyes would burn.

Sis,I do hate welfare but, having a viable Israel in between all these other Arab and Islamic countries helps to stabilize the region somewhat IMO.Even though it might not seem that way.
I am very concerned right now because, for Israel to survive long term, they have to have Americas support and Obama seems lukewarm to Israel. You watch, if Israel takes out a nuclear plant in Iran, Obama will be out front condemning them, even though their very survival might be at risk.Obama seems naive to me.What I'm really afraid of is: Armageddon;the final war on earth. With Christ coming down to save his people.A relative of mine talks on this alot.

The real reason we support Israel can be seen in this video from two days ago. It contains vulgar language so its not for work or children. These are Americans talking about their president.
http://www.philipweiss.org/mondoweiss…
“Most of the people that we talked to were dual American Israeli citizens. The answers in this video reflect the education and worrisome perspectives that many American Jews harbor towards Israeli politics. The sense of entitlement that the American Jewish community has when it comes to Israeli policy is on full raw display in the words of these young adults.”
I find this quite disturbing.

Now repeat after me….Obama is not responsible for the jobless rate period. I am not however in favor of gov't intervention in Chrysler and GM's problems.Should have been allowed to fail on their own.Look to Ford Motor Co…very flexible and quick to respond WO need for gov't bailout. The shovel ready jobs are out there…..Nothing wrong with safeguarding where the $$$$ is going. Nobody seems to be able to figure out where that last few hundred million thrown out there by the Bush Admin. went.On the other hand the printing presses have to be shut down.

Wow, having just spent two weekends in a row checking out the two casinos in the area, I can say there is no comparison between Northern Quest and the Coeur D'Alene Casinos. Northern Quest machines are dialed in so you can actually occasionally win some money. The CDA casino remains full of slot machines so incredibly dialed in to the house you might as well just hand your money over to the casino staff when you come in. Not sure if anyone's ever compared pay outs per gambler but I can't even imagine why anyone would gamble at the CDA Casino. For.suckers.

keithincda, gambling in a casino with machines dialed in at max house setting is for mega suckers, whereas gambling in a casino with machines dialed in a little bit more for granny and gramps and the RV set is for mini suckers. Northern Quest is much more fun because you can work the machines much longer until you bust. The CDA Casino is like speed dating meth prostitutes.

You know, there's lots of things I've never done before, like ask a man in a bar, “Are you Toadman?” but I've also never been to a casino.

Keith you cant talk that smack and walk away from here…
Only jimmymac can do that — well, sort of — but only because it's a family thing and even though he still has the option of feeding his entire extended family some of the best BBQ in the region relatively free of charge and getting them all together for probably the most affordable professional portrait you could buy, and some of the best beer any of them have ever tried, he gets a break.
Yes, even though he did in fact initiate this smackdown, he can go to Dockside or something.
But you, Sir, need to understand there aint no “may” in June. You are in; or you are out. And there's no talkin' smack unless you're in my good friend!
BTW, bring it on my man! I've been grilling tri-tips for three nights in a row, but that is just my practice cut ;-)
I'm smokin' the grill baby… I have a full meal deal in the works. And Stickman, I shiping marmite some bent brew that should mature the day it arrives, so she can tip a glass wit us on the 20th…

Any opportunity to take a whack at Obama…
I have been playing with my new piece of garden equipment for some time. That's the high wheel cultivator I mentioned on previous threads. Finally got it put together and took it out to the garden. Second time out, I figure out how to loosen hardened ground and uproot weeds as well as breaking up grass roots. The tines attachment really does work well, better than a hoe actually. And given the other attachments that comes with it, I expect I'll even use it to plow some and keep grass roots broken up out in my berry and perennial patch. Be easier than trying to drive a rototiller through it.

Well Bent my lovely bride Mrs. Keithincda, has been out of town until about 2PM today when her plane lands at GEG. Being that I never make plans without 1st, ahem, TELLING her what I am going to do, I am compelled to continue living my great life by making sure there is not something else in our social calendar that particular day.
If I am free, or Mrs Keithincda says I am, you shall have some competition.
Oh and by the way, I'm grilling enough tri-tip for 45 people next weekend for a birthday party. Start trembling…;)
