Nipp said he wrote Jorgenson a letter following last week’s report. “I’ve been a citizen of this community since childhood,” Nipp said Monday, adding he volunteered his time to the board. “I always try to perform my duties with honesty and integrity,” he said. “For over two years this undisclosed group has been accusing and trying to slander my character and other members on this commission. The AG’s report said it appeared clear that this was not done to defraud or deceive, but rather a belief that (I) did not have a conflict”/Charlie Nipp, former Lake City Development Corp. chairman. Question: Would you be willinig to serve on a controversial board like LCDC, if you knew a misstep could trigger an investigation?

I find it incredible that Mr.Nipp thinks he didn’t have a conflict of interest, when he served on both the LCDC board and the MWB board, while procuring loans from MWB for LCDC.My perspective is: he didn’t think there was a conflict, b/c he didn’t receive an income from LCDC.Had Mr.Nipp received an income from LCDC this story might have turned out differently.

Kage…some attorneys agree with him, so clearly there is a question as to the interpretation of the rule. Your continued unequivocol determinination notwithstanding, Mr. Nipp DID NOTHING WRONG…the AG’s finding of a “technical violation” is it’s self ambiguous with regards to criminality…Jorgenson is engaging in political grandstanding to ingratiate the CAVErs who support him.

Sadly, these days in order to run for office or to serve in any public function, one needs to have led a saintly life, free of any mistakes, AND be sure that your third cousin, twice removed hasn’t spoken to you in the last 40 years because otherwise the opposition will drag him through the streets, touting the rumors of his having attended a kegger as a youth and using that possibility as a clear indicator that you’re involved in skulduggery; otherwise you would have outed the wayward cousin’s flaws and recused yourself from any decision making involving beer, beer distributors, laws pertaining to teens, drunk driving, selling alcohol on Sundays and election days, building permits for distributors, and salaries of teachers who have been know to hide their own wayward years.
