In the news this morning: Daylight-saving time begins again early Sunday morning here. A New Jersey congressman labels Barack Obama ‘Abortion President’ here. Newsweek explores why men and women diet differently here. A Boulder, Colo., company shares $9M with its workers here. And another Wild Card is in play …

Dam, did I miss a whole Saturday?

Howard_Martinson on March 07 at 6:14 a.m.
Wow, Sunday. I must have been abducted by little green 4’ aliens and taken to their space ship for about 24 hours. Sorry to report, I can’t remember a thing about it.
wheels on March 07 at 8:13 a.m.
Hey DFO see what you did by setting your clock ahead a day early. I had plans for Saturday.April 1st is next month.
Dennis on March 07 at 8:20 a.m.
SUNDAY ALREADY?!?!?!?!
I’m never drinking again!!!
:-0
Arch_Druid on March 07 at 8:27 a.m.
I think Dave set his clock back by 24 hours in advance.
DFO on March 07 at 8:53 a.m.
I was trying to remind you guys to set you clocks forward tonight. I guess I shouldn’t blog after midnight.
danofthecommunity on March 07 at 8:56 a.m.
I don’t think it should be legal to switch to daylight savings time while some people still have piles of snow taller than they are…
marmitetoasty on March 07 at 9:15 a.m.
Ours clocks dont jump forward today……

Bent on March 07 at 10:01 a.m.
I moving mine ahead today, just to get ahead of the rest of you…
DFO, can you adjust my time stamp accordingly please?
JeanieSpokane on March 07 at 10:13 a.m.
I could fix your time, Bent, I have the power, but then your comment would disappear for an hour until we all caught up with you.
Stickman on March 07 at 10:14 a.m.
Finally, a little more daylight in the evening.
Bent on March 07 at 10:20 a.m.
Yeah, Jeanie, that’s a problem… isn’t it? Stoopid time stamps, who’d thought they could become such a force against progress.
I just moved my clocks back until I’m done with HBO for the day…
Cindy_H on March 07 at 10:22 a.m.
I hope I ddn’t miss Saturday. I like Saturday.
I read the paper in bed and sip my coffee. Everbody goes skiing and the house is quiet. No one bugs me about lunch money, or mssing backpacks. And I was really looking forward to watching NWC; take their fourth straight State B title.
And if I missed Saturday, I’m seriously late for church.
Sigh.
Rosalind on March 07 at 11:12 a.m.
Time to go see The Watchmen…here on this SATURDAY morning! :)
Dennis on March 07 at 11:30 a.m.

Just heard former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor tell Jon Stewart on The Daily Show that, according to the Annenberg Foundation, only 1/3 of Americans can name the three branches of our government.
… but 75 percent can name at least one American Idol judge.
She was on speaking about her new Web site: http://www.ourcourts.org/
She said she started it because of statistics like those above but also because she didn’t agree with people going after courts for being “activist judges” and being “Godless, secular humanists” as she termed it. She said she doesn’t think people understand how our government is designed to work.

When he was nominated, I voiced my concern over Eric Holder being the Attorney General. He was involved, like it or not, in the Marc Rich pardon by Clinton for a donation to the library. Last week he called all of us Americans cowards for the way we deal with race relations. For cripes sake, we just elected a black President and Holder calls us cowards? Another bad choice by Obama. Holder and Geithner. Obama not happy with Holder either, according to this article

How can any of you speak of these things when we have a blizzard going on. Man does it ever stop? Not to rain on anyones parade but hey it’s comin down sideways so…
hmoffsuite on March 07 at 3:05 p.m.
Sorry, Truly. In Arizona, its 75 and sunny. :~)
BethB on March 07 at 5:40 p.m.
What I’m looking forward to about tomorrow’s time change is that my car clock will be 5 minutes slow rather than 55 minutes fast.
Stickman on March 07 at 6:18 p.m.
Truly: Enjoy the day, no matter what the weather. I hope you have been enjoying the simple gift, such a pleasure is that.
Don_Sausser on March 07 at 7:38 p.m.
Sorry, I’ve just got to change the subject: the North Idaho College Women’s baskeball team has just come from 18 points down to beat College of Southern Idaho, 66-61. This hard fought achievment gets them a trip to National competition March 17.
GO CARDINALS!!!
Sam on March 07 at 8:00 p.m.
Fantastic news, Don! Go Cards!
hhuseland on March 07 at 8:34 p.m.
Two things. First, Wheels, I have known you for many years. I’m surprised that you are surprised that a missing day here or there is unusual.
Secondly, as a west coast transplant, I am amped that the Washington Huskies finally won the conference, the first time since 1953. I was a freshman in high school at the time, but my big brother was a journalism student at the Udub. He got me student passes, and I actually got to see the legendary Bob Houbregs with his sky hook dominate the pac-10 or what ever they called it back then. The Huskies went on to reach the final four, before dropping out. Fifty-six years later, we finally nudged UCLA out of permanent possession of the pac-10. That it came at the expense of WSU is sad in a way, but They probably couldn’t have got a better fight out of any other opponent. Now it’s time to root for our state, not just a portion of it. GO HUSKIES!

Beth b reminds me of how impossible it is to reset the time on a car radio. I’ve only met one person that successfully did it. That was when I was driving a cab and had a developmentalyl disabled fare on board. He fixed it.
hhuseland on March 07 at 8:46 p.m.
One more day, or maybe two and the snow will go away. This is but a challenge of our will to live. Hang in there, Babe. The first robins visited me this afternoon right in the middle of the storm, or at least the first part of the storm. By Monday, the sun will come out and we’ll all be bitching about the grass that has already started to grow in my lawn again.
Arch_Druid on March 07 at 8:49 p.m.
Actually, I didn’t have much cause to raise eyebrows over Eric Holder calling people cowards over race relations. Yeah, we actually have our first African-American president. And a lot of hatred following in his wake during the time of the campaign.
