If you’ve ever received a speeding ticket and faced a rude cop, you may be interested in new ratings website. Ratemycop.com has generated a firestorm of criticism from the law enforcement community. It allows Joe Citizen - that’s you - to post anonymous statements and the site lists officers by name. Officers have been described as ‘demeaning and harassing,’ while others have been told to ‘step down.’ More here. And: Coeur d’Alene Police & Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department here. H/T: KHQ
Question: Ever had a run-in with a cop after which you wanted to give him/her a piece of your mind?

I am not totally sure this is a great idea. I do like the idea of the public holding law enforcement accountable, though. Not sure how I would do it though, since removing the anonymous factor mightn’t be a good idea either…

I have … in fact, some might recall that I did give them a piece of my mind on this blog. And I was entirely satisfied with the results. I’m not sure I like this other site. I think I’ll stick with HBO…
BTW, It looks like only the cops have found this site so far because every comment on the Kootenai County deputies and the Cd’A officers is positive.
That’s just doesn’t pass the snicker test…
Hey, and where is Post Falls Finest?

I have commented before on the men in blue and what they do for us. I like all of them, as I once wanted to be one. Never happened though. I have taught my children since a very young age to always be respectful and truthful, whenever pulled over for anything. It has always worked beautifully, though maybe not for many. Respect and the truth always seems to work. Try it sometime, and you might like the results. They are there for us, and I have had many such visitors of the men in blue over the years and I like every single one of them. Put yourself in their place sometime, and see how you would react.

Once the cops in City Park hassled me, after they were told by someone that I looked like a face on a ‘Wanted’ Poster. They came up to me, as I sat IN PLAIN SIGHT, on the seawall, and demanded my ID. So I let them have my ID, but then I gave them all (by this time 7 or 8 cops on bicycles were gathered around me) a piece of my mind. I told them that they’re too vigilant, and they go around needlessly harrassing citizens, and I also told them that if they didn’t mellow out just a bit, that soon, people would begin rising up against them. I always felt that the Police Presence in CDA City Park is way too extreme, and now that I don’t live there, that’s something I definitely Don’t miss.

I’ve never had problems with the cops. In Moscow, I’ve had positive encounters with them. I remember one time my friends and I had a bit too much to drink before heading to the downtown bars. We were being stupid and messing around in a shopping cart, and the bike cops stopped us. They just gave us a hard time and asked if we stole the cart from Winco. We didn’t, it was abandoned. They told us to leave the cart alone and let us go on our merry way.
