The Idaho men’s basketball team is participating in postseason play for the first time since the 1989-90 season. The Vandals (16-15) will play host to Drake on Wednesday in a first-round game of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. Drake is 17-15 overall (finished 7-11 in the Missouri Valley Conference) and has lost eight of its past 11, including the final three/Idaho Statesman. More here.
Question: Does it matter to you that CollegeInsider.com isn’t one of the prestigious postseason basketball tournaments?

I was hoping my alma mater would make the NIT but I’m glad they at least get to extend their season.
Meanwhile, Wazzu just missed the NCAAs, as the 7th place team in the PAC 10. Three other conferences are sending 7 teams but the PAC 10 only got six. I think they’ll do well in the NIT, hopefully make it all the way to New York for the finals.

How about that…the Vandals in a tournament. Cool! Wish it happened more often…

Too bad they are hosting the game during spring break. I’d head down there if it wasn’t during the week. :(
