MamaJD: Wanna Hear From Wannabes

MamaJD: I am supportive of Mike Kennedy’s re-election bid but I am interested in hearing who Steve Adams and what his views are regarding CdA. I know I could give him fair treatment and am confident that many others on HBO could as well. I’m not sure why explaining your platform here is any worse than explaining it in an open forum. I would figure it would provide good practice. And at least you can preview what you want to say before you say it in a forum like HBO.

Question: Indeed, MamaJD, all wannabes are welcome to toss in their 2 cents here. I tip my cap to the elected officials who has used this forum for input and to communicate their ideas (i.e., MikeK, Dan of the County, and Sgt. Christie). The kinder, gentler Huckleberries Online is a relatively safe place for public officials to interact. I hope more of them take advantage of this forum this year.

“Don’t expect Steve Adams to get fair treatment by anyone here-that’s for sure.” - Fishwife

What is “fair treatment” supposed to mean? Anybody running for public office sould be able to articulate their ideas and defend, if necessary, their positions. That’s fair, isn’t it? That’s democracy, right?

Fishwife seems to imply that Steve Adams’ ideas will get attacked and/or ridiculed here. The only way I see that happening is if he’s a knuckle dragging mouth-breather who spews conspiratorial nonsense of the kind that comes from the CAVEr crowd. If, on the other hand, he’s a reasonable, articulate, independent-minded R or D with a vision for a better Coeur d’ Alene, we all want to hear it; he’ll get a fair shake here, IMO.

Who is he? Does anybody know?

Aliasjax, what’s a Caver? Just curious.

  • Aliasjax on March 17 at 10:46 a.m.

A partial description preceded the use of the term, Kage…besides don’t be coy. You’ve been here long enough to know exactly what is meant by the term. If you’ve got something to say, just say it.

Kage - “Caver” is a germ coined here, I think. It stands for:

    Citizens
    Against
    Virtually
    Everything

Mr. Mann is baiting because I believe he’s been around long enough to know what is meant by the term CAVEr. Didn’t I see you dissing this blog’s use of the term CAVEr on another blog somewhere, Kage? :)

There were only three things I could find out about Steve Adams searching Google, one of which DFO already pointed out, that he works for Allstate Insurance.

At the Feb 7, 2006 CdA Council meeting, Suzie Snedaker complained about a boarding house in her neighborhood, and stated she believed it was not permitted by zoning code.

The administrator of the Lord’s House, Jack Landreth, explained the nature and purpose of the house, and read a letter from a Steve Adams basically supporting the Lord’s House. I do not know if the is the same Steve Adams as the person filing for the Council seat.

In a November 27, 2004 posting by DFO on what was then Hot Potatoes, a Steve Adams is quoted as saying he agrees whole heartedly with former Cda Planner Steve Badraum as to Badraum’s criticism of Hagadone’s philanthropy efforts. Again, I don’t know if this is the same Steve Adams or not. DFO did not confirm or deny.

Nice research, CYRTS. I have a little more info on Steve Adams. He runs the All-State Insurance agency on Sherman Avenue — and is the son of Chuck Adams. Who had the All-State Insurance agency before him. He’s in his late 30s to early 40s — and had a Jim Hollingsworth sign in his business’s yard during the last election. He took out the paperwork for campaign treasurer a coupla weeks ago.

MamaJD, I just wanted to make sure that Aliasjax knew what the term meant and thank gawd I’m not one of those people. Now, I’m trying to figure out what ‘Nimby’ means? ;-)

  • cantyoureadthesigns on March 17 at 11:59 a.m.

So, DFO do you think the Steve Adams referenced in that CdA council meeting minutes is the same Steve Adams?

And can you confirm or deny that the Steve Adams that praised Badraum’s criticism of Hagadone’s philanthropy efforts on your blog in 2004 is the same Steve Adams?

    Supported Hollingsworth, eh? Interesting…

  • Fishwife on March 17 at 1:37 p.m.

The blunting of Steve Adams’ campaign here has begun. DFO’s name association with a “Jim Hollingsworth” is…oh my..ever so subtle..NOT.

  • DFO on March 17 at 1:45 p.m.

So, Fishwife, what’s your take on Steve Adams? Do you know him? We’re looking for info. Instead of complaining about perceived bias here, why don’t you fill us in?

  • Cabbage Boy on March 17 at 1:48 p.m.

I had a hollingsworth sign. Guess I shouldn’t bother running for office in this town…

  • Cindy_H on March 17 at 1:52 p.m.

Well. I attended Moses Lake Christian School when I was in middle school. Guess who the principal was?

  • MamaJD on March 17 at 2:26 p.m.

Cabbage , we would be more likely to mention your Ron Paul sign. ;)

  • Cabbage Boy on March 17 at 2:52 p.m.

Sure thing MamaJD. I am “radical” from bottom to top. Local to national. :)
