Sweet 16 Wild Card — 3/27/09

I’m taking the day off today, but I left plenty of fodder below for you to peruse and to discuss. It’s Sweet 16 day, of course. So there’s an HBO Poll re: favorite current Zag player and some links to pre-game stories by Jim Meehan. You can also discuss the Owyhee Wilderness vote and even your feelings re: attending weddings. I’ll check in during the day. And I’ll post items overnight to greet you in the morning. Be good. Here’s your Wild Card …

    What is this “March Madness” I keep hearing about, and is there a way we can isolate and inoculate those affected?

    DFO - Sorry I didn’t get your message until late last night, too late to make any arrangements, but I’d totally be more than willing to take the reigns some other time for sure if the offer still stands. I’m sure I could come up with some very “interesting” thread topics to keep this lovable beast fed.

    Orange - when I saw DFO’s plea for a host, I thought of you. You could still do it right here in the Wild Card. (gee that sounded like I was making a lewd proposal). I’d offer topics but they probably would alienate at least the guys:

    1. menopause (since I have successfully survived it and Cindy hasn’t met it yet);
    2. having more children just when your already existing children “leave the nest”;
    3. what is the appropriate waiting period to take over your child’s room once he leaves the nest, painting it yellow and setting up scrapbooking material

    etc.

    Toad, no worries about isolation, those affected already are in self-quarantine.

    Jeanie S, I think you must be thinking of the wrong blog. The “Women over 40” blog was the third click on the left and just down the hall.

    Only one thing needs to be said about menopause here and I quote from a friend in his 50s. He said if his wife died, there would be no way he would ever marry a younger woman. Going through menopause once was enough for him.

    Dang it! I got lost again! Once you’ve passed menopause you need a map for just about everything, even your own blog.

    Men still give me a pause.
    That’s all I have to say about that.
    Check in again in a couple years :-)

    Sorry JeanieS, I haven’t been bored since I was a young man. So much to so, and so much to feel good about.

  • Stickman on March 27 at 8:15 p.m.

    CindyH: I understand your thoughts, as I sometimes think that everyone gives me pause. We are such different beings, men and women I mean. I will check back on you in a couple of years, I hope you are still sane.
