At the Seattle P-I’s Big Blog, blogmistress Monica Guzman shares several ideas from readers re: April Fool’s Day pranks, including: “Put a package of cookies in a trash can. As people walk by, pull out a cookie, and say “Wow, a perfectly good cookie!” Then eat it.” And: “I set my co-worker’s Microsoft Word auto-correct feature to change “the” to “teh” and “a” to “an” as she typed.” Remember: Tomorrow’s April 1.
Question: What is the best April Fool’s Day prank that you’ve pulled?

I was the tour leader for the CDA Youth Orchestra’s 2001 tour of Southern California…45 high school musicians from all over North Idaho
We’d spent the previous day at Disneyland…and a day and evening doing ‘musical stuff’. During the long bus ride back to Anaheim from Northridge everyone was tired, but looking forward to the next day at Universal Studios. It was April first…I was sitting in the front of the bus and took the Tour Guide microphone.
“Congratulations everyone” I said, “you did a great job with our joint performance with the Northridge Youth Orchestra. In fact, their conductor was so impressed with your performance, that he’s arranged through some friends for a special treat. Instead of Universal Studios tomorrow, we’re going to get a personal guided tour of Yanni’s house!” (1-one thousand, 2-one thousand, 3-one thousand, as groans and moans rolled through the bus)….April Fool!!

This isn’t an April Fool joke, but April 1 marks the 9th anniversary of the day I had my last cigartte, and that’s no joke! Cold Turkey it was. I relapsed twice or so in my dreams while sleeping but never in reality.

Last year, I very seriously announced at the dinner table that it looked like we’d have another member of the family in seven months.
My husband and the teenagers were disbelieving, amused and relieved in that order.
My nine-year-old cried.
Who knew he’d been praying for a baby brother since Christmas?

My oldest brother is my mother’s April fool’s joke, since he was born on that day. Poor guy.

Yes Steve, I was there and remember the “Yanni” April fool joke, but I don’t think many of the youngsters even knew who Yanni was!

I told someone today that it was going to be very sunny and warm tomorrow. :)
