Is this kind of deception becomming more common? A couple years ago, Boise passed a massive levy for the schools, and one of the major selling points was that several schools would close down. Boise is a large district, but it’s been stagnant and even lost some enrollment while Meridian has exploded. Anyways, several schools are under capacity by a fair number of students, and as I pointed out a few days ago, we have some really odd situations where multiple under-capacity schools are virtually next door to one another. These closures have not occured anywhere near the degree that we were promised. Like I said, within one mile of my home I have three elementary schools, meaning 3 administrations, and 2 of those schools are far below capacity. School districts will make promises like this if they keep getting away with it.

the day they make a budget and decide to stick to it is the day I vote for a levy. I’m not holding my breath.

I hope Ms. James is the owner of the pickup she is standing on, otherwise she may be in for a rude how-do-you-do!
