I nearly got suspsended for posting posters with this quote from former Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas:
“In our system, state-operated schools may not be enclaves of totalitarianism.”
This was in response to some rather heavy handed policy changes handed down by the new principal, including a “no hat” policy.

I actually was nominated in high school (AZ) as most likely to move to CA and become a flower child. What did they know? (oh, and yes, I’m a UC Santa Cruz graduate….)
