The IVA is joining with Tea Party Idaho, the organization that sponsored the hugely successful Tea Party rally on April 15, to host Tea Party II today at 12 noon at the Capitol Annex. The Annex is the old Ada County Courthouse, and is the temporary home of the Idaho legislature while the state capitol undergoes renovation. It is across the street just east of the capitol building. The brief 30 minute rally will be held to strengthen the resolve of the Idaho House to hold firm in its resistance to any increase in the gas tax that Idaho families pay at the pump/Bryan Fischer, Idaho Values Alliance. More here.
Question: Do you support the Tea Party that will be held in Boise today to oppose Gov. Butch Otter’s insistence on a gas tax increase?

“Do you support the Tea Party that will be held in Boise today to oppose Gov. Butch Otter’s insistence on a gas tax increase?”—yes, every day is a good day for comic relief. So what value is being supported by the Idaho Values Alliance in this case? I’ll see if I can’t squeeze some time to get some photos of the teabaggers.

Of course I support it. How else could they make the Idaho clowns of the Republican party so easy to spot and identify? Aren’t they afraid they’re going to contract swine flu? snicker…

I’ll drop everything and get right down there.

Nitwits.

There is no substantive difference between a leftist or a right wing demonstration. That liberals would make fun of it is to prove that liberals are not advocates of free speech, or the right to petition their government.
A true progressive welcmes all points of view. I personally am not moved to mill around with a sign board, but I don’t disrespect others that do. The negative comments probably wouldn’t have been made if it were in reference to the “Million Man March,” ore a gay pride parade, or a civil rights demonstration.
I guess whether a demonstration is alright, is a subjective one that should be given a wide personal demonstration of tolerance.
toadman on May 04 at 11:35 a.m.
I’m not making fun of the demonstration. They’re welcome to demonstrate and speak their minds. That’s what democracy is all about.
However, my opinion is that there ideology is misguided, and therefore, nitwits. I’ve said the same thing about both left wing AND right wing protests.

Oh Herb, like you can tell the difference or even know what a true progressive is. Did you ever hear the old saying that its better to stand in silence and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt? I see this isn’t relegated to tea parties. Could you articulate what it is they stand for and then tell me what solution they have facing the country and the economic crisis we’re in.

Nonini, Harwood and Sali are serving up the Kool Aid.

How do you conclude that to disagree with a position, or to make fun of it is to oppose free speech. Am I to conclude that your criticism of “liberals” means you oppose their right to free speech?
Fishwife on May 04 at 4:05 p.m.
My free speech right allows me to criticize your exercise of free speech. It’s not a liberal notion.

Couldn’t agree more, Phaedrus
