Idaho Gem Wild Card — 5/4/09

On this day in history: In 1961, 13 civil rights activists, dubbed “Freedom Riders,” began a bus trip through the South. And, in 2003, Idaho Gem was born. He was the first member of the horse family to be cloned. In 1959, Randy Travis was born. And, in 1929, Audrey Hepburn was born. Today, in the news, Janet Jackson’s exposed breast during the 2004 Super Bowl is still bouncing around the courts here. Now, for the Wild Card.

    What kind of Wild Car is it? A GTO? One of those clown cars with 40 people who jump out? Or is someone hot-boxing in there with a bunch of topless sorority girls?

    yeah - I’m curious too. It was the title that got me! Wild car - police chase??? And then you tease us with check back later for exciting news about Coeur d’Alene and I’m still seeing a wild car racing along the river, careening around Tubbs Hill, and urching to a stop at Stickman’s.

    uh, I think it’s only fair that you leave the title as is so it matches with the comments. Now everyone thinks MM and I are just wild and crazy about cars and we commented on the wrong thread. {sigh}

    “The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Bob Nonini, was a no-show, and the Senate Education Committee has killed his bill, HB 373.”

    Where was Ol’ Bob today? Golfing with Duane again? Opening his wallet for lobbyists?

    What a joke of a legislator. I wish he’d crawl back into his hole.

    “You should check back here around 12:30 to 1 p.m. for some interesting news that’s about the break in Lake City.”

    I been checkin’, but you’ve posted several things since 12:30, and I can’t tell which one was the big story. Was it the High School thing? The kayaker thing, the re-post of the TeaPotty thing, or the updated Scanner traffic? They’re all about equal to me…

    ;-)

    Toad; I meant the Coeur d’Alene High student walkout. But the other things posted are cool, too.

    What, did the S/R move their hosting to 90’s era servers or something?

    Talk about SLOW…

    David, do you remember me—the writer with the funny hair who was fired by the Press after I got sick? Since I have no way to inform people through The Press, I was wondering if you would be so kind to let your readers know what happened to me since a lot of sweet, caring people were left in the lurch by my abrupt departure and I had no time to grab all my contact info. If you could, please just let people know I’m alive, gettiing better, and back in my Las Vegas home working on novels. I miss the very bone-deep kindness of the people in North Idaho who were there for me and Alan from the beginniing and they can always reach me at lynnberk49@yahoo.com. I have not forgotten them.
