Bent: Went bicycle riding with my wife. We just got new bikes, what a blast. I almost forgot how much fun it is to ride a bike. I’ve been taking my bike to work and riding at lunch, and twice last
week I put it on the bus, took the bus to Liberty lake and rode my bike
home to Post Falls. … If the weather holds I am going to do it
again today. … Next week is Bike to Work Spokane, and we have a corporate team so I’ll try riding both ways that week.
Question: When did you last ride a bike?

last summer but Bent really has me thinking about riding a whole lot more.

I’m impressed, Bent! Do you take the Centennial Trail? So, next week you will ride the entire route from Post Falls to Spokane?
I’d like to do this - from Millwood - but I’d be such a stinky, sweaty mess by the time I got here. I dunno.

I rode my bike last night (it needs repair, though, anyone knoe a good shop in town?). I have one of those kid carriers on the back of it, and our two year old absolutely LOVES riding with me…especially now that Spokannibus has torn up Alberta (one of our nearby arterial streets), and we can ride down there and look at all the giant machinery after all the workers have gone. He goes google-eyed over that stuff.
As for riding to work, it’s too far, realistically, for me to ride, so I drive down to the Jefferson Lot in downtown Spoklaloonie, about a five minute drive for me, and catch the bus to my destination. I’ve been doing that for over a year now, and I have to tell you, the money we’ve saved is making a difference. We just paid off our last gas company credit card (Chevron) with the money we’ve saved, and it felt good.

Question: When did you last ride a bike?
Yesterday. I bicycle or walk to work (2 miles each way) everyday. I walked to work today because it was raining so hard and my commuter bike doesn’t have any fenders.

Hey Toad, I used Two Wheel Transit and they are fantastic. A complete tune up: spokes, hubs, gears, brakes and anything else that needs a tweak or two all for $70. Their web site is here:

And Yes, Jeannie I am going to give it a try. (We have a locker room and shower). Right now, a one-way trip from Liberty Lake Park n’ Ride to my house is just about 12 miles. I can get 24 miles by riding both ways and the goal is to ride the entire way in within the next month or so. That would be about 50 miles round trip a day.
