Marianne: Grab Hold Of May

Once May Day comes, look out. Try to smell the roses, even if they haven’t arrived by May Day cuz if you blink, you’re liable to miss some good memories and then a long winter will come and the great moments you will want to remember of the past spring will seem so distant and so far off. That’s how it is in May. As the calendar changes, so do the smorgasboard offerings of “things to do.” And, in most cases, they’re all pretty tasty treats. Decision-making is much more difficult, but one must not linger too long in filling one’s plate, cuz the day’s offerings will go by fast enough/Marianne Love, Slight Detour. More here.

    Every one, without doubt.

It is hard to choose, but I love October with the crisp air, blue sky, mums in bloom and leaves turning.

    No contest: September!

When I lived in Coeur d’Alene, July was my favorite month. The consistent warm weather and the knowledge that you’d have at least another 60 days of fair weather. September was awesome because most of the tourorists left and you had a beautiful town to yourself.

In Boise, I love June—mostly for the same reasons I loved July in CDA. I like the warm weather.

October was always a bittersweet month for me. The cool, crisp days are a joy, but October always makes me feel the same way I felt in grade school on Sunday nights. In fact, to this day, when I hear the announcement “up next, 60 minutes, except on the West Coast” during an NFL game on Sunday evening, it still reminds me that school starts in the morning. sigh
