W.R. Grace Innocent On All Counts

The jury in the federal asbestos trial has found W.R. Grace not guilty on all counts, according to University of Montana journalism and law students who are blogging from the courtroom. It was a unanimous decision. More hereMissoulian story here.

    There were a whole lotta newspaper articles about people in Libby, Montana, and the infirmities they were suffering because they had Asbestos particles in their system. A lot of those articles appeared in the Spokesman-Review way back when. It was a case of the Little People vs. Greedy Management, so in a highly cynical way, No, I’m not surprised at the verdict. I don’t think it’s the RIGHT verdict, tho…

    Crap. As someone who lived many years in the town right next to Woburn MA (site of another WR Grace waste dump; this one responsible for an awful lot of dead children) I am incensed by this.
    I would like to see these people’s private parts yanked off one by one….

    A Civil Action is about that exact same Woburn MA situation that I mentioned a couple of posts up. So yes, same company.
    What a bunch of scumbags.

    The news accounts painted the prosecutor as a bumbler. Totally outgunned by high priced defense lawyers.
