BrentA: Facebook Is Eating My Time

Brent Andrews: I got back on Facebook the other day. Everyone around me is on Facebook, plus Idaho friends, high school friends, so many friends some of them are actually not my friends but people I’d rather not see again, so I have to ignore the “suggestion” that I become friends with, for example, this very cute potential girlfriend from middle school who humiliated me in a way I can forgive and forget - but not so much that I want to be friends again, even pretend Facebook friends. Facebook is hogging a lot of my time again. I think about it too much.

Question: Which sites take up most of your time online?

HBO, and only because it is so blasted slow. Yes Dave, the old site worked much better.

I’m Jeanie and I’m a Huckle-aholic. I’m trying to find a support group but everyone I know is also a Huckle-aholic. And we all work. And whenever our gaze drops to the tool bar and we see the internet icon just sitting there, blinking at us, we have to hit it. Just once. I only hit it just once. Viola! There’s HBO in all its glory waiting for me to cruise the threads. And I regain my senses and close the window and start working again on some dictation or a spreadsheet or a letter and my gaze drops and I see that little blinking icon, calling me calling me calling me.

I spend too much time on facebook too. I can’t wait to start my new job tomorrow so I don’t have to be on facebook so much! haha

I’m having to ration my internet time more and more these days. Huckleberries, Facebook, Hucklebook, Faceberries, e-mail, Ebay, Blogger-dot-com, Google; I mean, my computer is really beginning to interfere with my TV-watching time…
