This May 30, 2008, file image taken from a surveillance video and provided by the Hartford Police Department shows a man, lying in the street, center frame, just after a car hit him. The man was tossed like a rag doll by a hit-and-run driver, and car after car zoomed by as he laid motionless on the busy city street. The victim, Angel Arce Torres who was left paralyzed and mute died Monday night after being removed from life support. (AP Photo/Hartford Police Dept.)
Question: Is this an isolated incident? Or are we Americans becoming this calloused?

This is aweful. I can’t imagine just driving by someone sprawled out on the road like that. I can’t help but wonder if the drivers thought this might be some sort of prank….either that or they were all on their cell phones.

NOT laughing. Two issues, ‘don’t care’ and ‘surveillance videos’. Both scary, and both not funny.

Every citizen should inform themselves of their state Samaritan laws - because in some states if you fail to assist someone, you are a criminal. In some states, if you do assist and make things worse, you are a criminal.
Best to be informed.
