Bent and a buddy rode their bikes to the ribbon-cutting for the Kathleen Avenue connector trail Tuesday — and provided this photo of Mayor Sandi Bloem and local children doing the honors. You can read more about this important event and see more of Bent’s photos from the Kootenai MPO site here. Coeur d’Alene Today story here.
A reception is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday for City Clerk Chris Pappas, who is retiring after 31 years with the city of Post Falls.

I like things like this, it encourages exercise and healthy living. Thanks to the Mayor and the town for doing things like this.

Hey thanks for the front page, DFO. But Staci (sock puppet at the keybaord avatar) gets the credit for this one, and for most of the KMPO and SRTC blog resposibilities for that matter ( I just swoop in and cherry pick now and then ;-)
In this case, I just insisted we ride our bikes to the dedication of this new trail (in questionable weather) and she was a great sport about it.
And you are right Stickman, this type infrastructure is fantastic. My kids can now ride from our house in Post Falls to the Charter Academy on Kathleeen (about 10 miles) and they only have to ride in traffic for a few short blocks…Pretty cool

Indeed, you do, Staci; any chance I can get you guys to put some sort of tag line to indicate the author. I enjoy giving credit for good online work.

I SUPPOSE we could do that from now on. I really don’t mind. It’s actually pretty funny to watch Bent strut around here bragging that he made the front of Huckleberries. It’s the small things in life I guess…
