HBO’s Inland Northwest — 5/13/09

Rex Rammell has had to change the colorful graphics on his giant, decorated “Conservative Express” RV twice in the last month and a half. First, he changed, “Time for a new kind of Senator” to “Time for a new kind of Congressman,” when the former independent candidate for U.S. Senate decided to take on U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson next year in the GOP primary … Then, the graphics had to be readjusted again - now “Congressman” has been replaced with “Governor”//Betsy Russell, Eye On Boise. More here.

“time for a new kind of Governor”?

Yes - Rammell is now running as a Republican for Governor against Otter next spring. This is the best thing to happen and will carry Butch to a primary victory espically since you’ll have a couple other right-wing nuts throwing their hat in as well.

I suspsect Speaker Denney or Majority Leader Moyle will attempt a primary challenge against Otter as well.

Don’t think so digger. Denney is rumored to not run at all next time. He’s soft spoken and not well suited for higher office nor the office he’s in. And Moyle want’s Denney’s job, not Otter’s…yet. Neither is well tied to the money that gets Republicans elected to statewide office but Moyle might be making inroads. The million dollar question is whether Otter will run.

LOL CB. He can’t even govern his elk herd.

2010 should be an interesting year for the GOP. By all accounts, Otter is going to run again and will probably draw more primary challengers than just Rammell. There’s the potential of a primary scrum to take on Minnick. Simpson and Crapo will probably only garner token primary challengers from the far right. Plus, who knows will come out of the woodwork to challenge other statewide office holders (AG, Lt. Gov, etc).

I’m personally hoping for a bloody, brutal and drawn out primary season for the GOP. Mostly because the action on my side of the aisle will be exceedingly boring as Dems try desperately to just field a few legit legislative contenders and decent statewide candidates against Otter and maybe Luna.

Thank god the primary system is still open so I can jump parties and vote in the R primary.

“Thank god the primary system is still open so I can jump parties and vote in the R primary”-after all that’s where the action is and which could determine the officeholder.

I wish Rex had changed the graphic on his bus as well. What he has is a picture of the Tetons, a Wyoming mountan range. There are great views of the Tetons near where he lives, but his picture is from the east-Jackson Hole, Wyoming -side.

Oh that’s too funny, Arpie. This REAL Idahoan, Rex, former proprietor of a shooting Elk in a barrel ranch for fake hunters with big money who wanted the “thrill” of guaranteed kill, has a picture taken in Wyoming on his political tour bus.

It’s Idaho, anything can happen. I expect someone to legally rename himself to “Dead Babies” and run on a single-issue platform against abortion.

And you think California has all the nuts.

Wait a second… Rex is a VETERINARIAN!? And his BUSINESS was conning rich suckers to KILL caged Elk??

    Unreal.
