Stickman: I have never killed an animal for food or for fun. In Vietnam, when I
was a very young man, once in awhile an animal would penetrate our
perimeter and all hell would break out. Rock apes, stray cattle and
wild pigs would happen upon us. Then, like I said, all hell would break
loose and we would find pieces and blood in the morning. I always felt
sad for them, but never the enemy.
Question: How many of you served in Vietnam? Where were you stationed? What was your assignment?

For some that may read this, I was stationed at Camp Carroll in the I Corps, which was a few miles from the DMZ. About as far north as you could get. Then I went to a small hill about a mile from the DMZ and stayed for a few months, with maybe 15 others. That was it. Scared to death every single night, but I came home intact and to this day am proud I served, though the war was a mistake. We lost so many young men, over 58K. The front post makes it seem like I like animals more than humans, not true. The enemy was trying to kill us, and we took that personally. The animals just got in the way, hence why I always felt bad for them.
