CindyH: Remember tonsillectomies? When I was a kid it seemed like everyone had their tonsils removed. What was up with that? I’ve got four kids. Nobody wanted to yank out any of their tonsils, nor do I recall any of their friends have the surgery. (Follow-up Question: How many of your kids have had tonsillectomies?)
I had tonsilitis (and sinus infections) a lot as a child. My mom went on some kind of health kick, diet and vitamins, and I never had any problems again. So, yes, I still have them. A lot of my other innards are gone though. LOL
My mother was too chicken to put me under the knife when I was a kid, so now I suffer annually from tonsillitis, which just plain isn’t fun. Excruciatingly painful to swallow for a week followed by a week of having no voice at all. Haven’t had my bout with it this year, but it usually hits me in about June. Thanks, mom.

Tonsils are like foreskins. God put ‘em there for a reason.

Anyone have a good idea for an avatar for Misc? I’ll post one for him/her as soon as I/you can think of something.

My tonsils are about the ONLY thing on my body that that’s still intact.

My Daughter (8) had hers removed earlier this year.. Not because of tonsillitis though, but because of sleep apnea..
I think it was well worth it..

Umm, Dennis, do you mean the you know what no longer functions? Geez, I am always sorry to hear that.
BTW, I had my tonsils yanked in kindergarten, but only one of my four children had hers removed.

I still have ‘em. They’ve never given me that much of a problem. Or, I just didn’t notice since I’d get so sick of hayfever every year…
