JBelle: back in the day when the SR with rife with columnists and professional
staff, a couple of the women in Spokane came over here and got pretty
irate with our boy Oliveria over some
chaunvinist thing or another he
supposedly said. Lord what a misunderstanding! :9 anyhoos, these wimmen
didn’t like it when the Hucksters jumped into the conversation to the
knees, with both cork boots on. Everybody here defended DFO’s thoughts
and The Wimmen Over There thought it was just deplorable the kind of
brawl that Oliveria referees here each day with the lack of respect and
all but as he pointed out, blogging and dialogue is NOT the Ivory Tower
of journalism and is quite different that selecting an idea, compiling
facts and then detailing your thoughts on this certain topic, on time
and in syntax. Full post below.
Question: We’ve certainly had some good times here. What is your favorite HBO memory?
Dan, back in the day when the SR with rife with columnists and professional staff, a couple of the women in Spokane came over here and got pretty irate with our boy Oliveria over some chaunvinist thing or another he supposedly said. know what I mean?

I have such great memories of HBO: Mike Kennedy’s first campaign and the outrageous attempted smear over his residency; JimmyMac’s patient and all day explanation of how mortgage banking really “works” and how and why some people can qualify, remember that?!; the extended debate of the Kroc Center; Love God Him! Larry Spencer is an idiot; of course, the whole Larry Craig reaction, second reaction, third reaction, fourth…ick, ick, ick; the brouhaha at Dan English’s workplace over blogging on the company dime; Taryn’s coverage of Joseph Duncan; Megan’s coverage of Joseph Duncan; Betsy’s coverage of Joseph Duncan; sigh; omigod! the Kootenai County prosecutor and the brouhaha in HIS workplace, THEIR workplace, heh; aw, geez! that narcissistic discussion over Sanders Beach where Bonner County and King County people told us what was good for us and how we should be thinking and feeling; no further comment; LCDC, just what would DFO do without LCDC?; Alice Rankin’s garden column; the series of community interviews that DFO did with the cognisati and luminati; watching OTV come into his own; watching Idawa start to get it; watching Idawa graduate; watching others systematically fly into the flames; the pregnancy and birth of Toad’s Liam; the death of parents, the return and departure for Iraq; the onset of serious illness and the triumph of healing and recovery; spring; Christmas and summer on Lake Coeur d’Alene. It’s neighborhood here now and has been for quite some time and is no less sacred than the old ground of Central School and 10th and Penn and the Yellow Brick Road of Foster Avenue. God bless us and help us, each and everyone.
Oh and Jane Q’s bikini avatar. One of the Top Three Best Moments.

When Clayton Cramer first commented here, and began calmly and systematically responding to every visceral liberal attack post, to the point that his attackers began to complain to DFO to ban Clayton for being a blogapotomus as they were pulling their cyber hair out. It was awesome.

That WAS awesome, OfCoffee!!! But Ziggles. I had forgotten all about him. Best Romp of HBO, easy. Easy!

Just about anything from his bobness.

Ziggles was entertaining, if not disturbing. some of the back and forth with Bob kicking the poodle down the stairs was one of the classics.

A thread about something like who was related to whom in the Silver Valley and someone who went by the name of Rainbow Sparkle Pony Angel (did I get the word order right?) inserted a video from YouTube of “Dueling Banjos”.
I nearly doubled over laughing at this shot taken at the beloved place where I grew up!

Rami Amaro (Ramero) v. Judge John Mitchell

So many good times at HBO but I’d vote for the Rami Amaro/Judge Mitchell race. It was deeply layered for humor.
I’d add that Dan Gookin’s HTML guide was excellent, though in the hands of the wrong people somewhat obnoxious. Thankfully the colored comments, moving type and various other forms of presentation were shortlived.
Marmitetoasty’s Christmas card.

Arhhh fond memories of dear Sam and my arrival on Dingleberries……. I thought he was a right little upstart lol…. oh how well I held me tongue LMFAO…..
There are many great bits I remember here…….. Bobs stuff and nonsense I miss still….
Stickman and Dons generosity in sending me some talking sticks all the way across the ocean…. that moved me….
So many other great comments and threads…. Im glad I was shown through the door of this blob…… even though half the time you’re all hard to understand lol

Thanks so much for include me JBelle, that was the one time i blogged at cyberspeed.
I have to admit, my faves have been the ultra late hour ones that go the distance. Of course, I tend to do my blogging at teh wee hours. Yes, they were heated and many a post was deleted, but they got your attention and most everyone participated. Election nights are always a favorite as well.

There are too many to mention, especially if you have been a blogger for many years on this site. The moments, I would have to think a bit about those. My top one would be tricking his Bobness in to coming over to my humble abode. Priceless. I miss him. I also miss Thom and Family Phil, though I have seen them both of late. There have been too many to mention, I guess that’s why I visit here each day. I go through periods like the rest of you and we smile and get mad and all the rest. I have left and come back, wanting more. The blog is what it is, and I enjoy it. We say what we want and then pay the price, though hopefully most of us that hang around are thick skinned. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible family, I hope it goes on forever.

Thanks Melody for the kind words, you have been one of the reasons I come here each day. I have enjoyed every word from you from day One. You are part of the family that seems to be very special. I for one am blessed in a sense to have found this site by accident long ago and hung in there. Thanks DFO for putting up with us and maybe even being the Cop in a sense. We may not always agree, but it’s been a fun ride.
