Sometimes people just want to know out of curiosity; other times it’s because they think such proximity to wealth might present an opportunity. And, of course, the scale of the wealth in question might vary widely. What might pass for rich in a small town in Georgia may seem like a rounding error when compared with the net worth of billionaires such as Microsoft (MSFT) founder Bill Gates or Berkshire Hathaway’s (BRKA) Warren Buffett/BusinessWeek. This is interesting question. I am willing to bet there are some extremely wealthy people in North Idaho that you’ve never heard of.
These folks don’t crave the spotlight, they don’t run with the popular circles or belong to the old guard. They’re just crazy rich.
We’re talking millionaires many times over. These folks are whales, moving under the ocean, rarely seen.

There’s a new list of the 100 highest per capita income counties of 2007 out today from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. No surprise that Dick Cheney’s constituents in Teton County, Wyoming top the list. Idaho’s Blaine County comes in at 19.

If one has nothing, they rarely care about the ones that have everything. I wish he would do more, but not likely.
