You can’t miss her ads. Seems like she’s been everywhere promoting diet books or seminars like “Sexy Hormones.” However according to yesterday’s story, Dr. Hart is curtailing her hormone business: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/may/24/physician-curtails-hormone-business/
Have any Hucksters attended one of Cheryle Hart’s seminars? What do you think about physicians who market themselves this aggressively?

I’ve never attended or even heard of one of her seminars so never attended one. I’m surprised this doctor can practice anywhere after reading the SR article. It sounds like she and her husband just want a get rich scheme to work for them.

I attended two of Cheryle Hart’s Hormone Seminars. While the information provided was educational and helpful, my overall experience was not great. The thing I learned, from personal experience is that hormones are powerful, and not something to be administered without being closely watched. That is where, in my opinion, Cheryle Hart’s seminars fail. A blood test is taken in the beginning, before attending the seminar, and a prescription is given, if needed. There are some guidelines given, of things to watch for, but there is no follow up blood test scheduled. In my case, I went from being low in one hormone, and was given a prescription, which I took as prescribed. It was only by fortunate chance, that I happened to see my doctor, and he ordered a battery of blood tests, at which time it showed that the hormone I was low on a few months earlier, was now off of the charts high. I did not have the “typical” side effects, but I did have the misfortune of having it cause a run away weight gain of about 30 pounds! I jokingly say I paid money (to attend the Hormones by Hart seminar) to get fat!

I also attended one of her seminars. It was very well organized, very fast paced, packed with information, and very expensive. Alas I had the same experience as Mia. I don’t think that a doctor doing that volume of business can be as effective as your own personal doctor who knows your history and takes a more personal approach to your hormones. The big “H” is nothing to trifle with!! That being said, I would recommend this seminar to anyone.

O.K. I attended Dr. Hart’s seminars, and enjoyed every minute of it. I find my body responds to exercise, my mind is clear, and my clothes are not wet from a hormonal sweat fit! I have been with Dr. Hart for the past four years and plan on many more.
She is a delightful speaker, a teacher, and an educator of what goes on in a woman’s body. If any man or woman wants to ban Dr. Hart from prescribing hormones to the women in the northwest, they better hide or they are going to have hormonal women on their doorsteps, and this will not be a pretty picture. I totally support Dr. Hart’s seminars, prescriptions and messages.
P.S. The hormonal woman awakes at 2 a.m. with night sweats and a thunder in their heart, so the attack will not be in daylight.
Hang in there Dr. Hart!

Ummm…..just realized I said “would recommend” and I meant “would not”…

I totally support Dr. Hart and all of her hormone work. I am one of her patients and I have to comment that her work has improved my health immensely.
I appreciate the comments of linwei. I think that like me this is her first comment on this blog.
I couldn’t help notice that the 3 bloggers who left negative comments have over 250 blog comments between them. Maybe DF could do a blog on “Blog Commenters — Helpful or Just Complainers with a Web Connection”

Wow, the “good” Dr. does good work, nice mind control. Unfortunately, she’s owes EVERYBODY in town, to the detriment of some of her patients.
Hormones and HRT are very SERIOUS issues of the day. For most women, very close monitoring of their condition and the therapies attempted is paramount to elimination and/or minimization of this medical problem.
This is testosterone fueled “I am Woman, hear me roar!” (without my hormone PILLS) is beyond ridiculous.
“I couldn’t help but notice…”. Pfffft. We did, concern troll.

This article strikes me as nearly libelous. As a patient of Dr. Hart’s, I happen to know that the “reprimands” cited are the medical equivalent of a parking ticket, instigated by physcians in towns where she lectured who didn’t want the competition from an outsider. She’s an exemplary physician and doesn’t deserve this. While her patient, I’ve had quarterly blood panels done and hours spent in education and getting my questions answered by her. Can you say that about your Dr? Mr. Stuckey clearly had an axe to grind. What an irresponsible piece of character assassination.

I attended one of Dr. Hart’s seminars and found it and her practice to be disorganized and a little shady. Not to mention that she and her husband have tried several what seems to amount to ‘get rich quick’ schemes, including a thigh reducer, spray on bedliner, neurotransmitter supplements, several hormone and menopause seminars both in person and then online and over the phone, two diet books, and now she is the medical advisor for a company hawking alkaline water.
As a result of my experiences (which included receiving a bill for lab tests that I already paid for and could not get her to willingly pay even though they were left in my name!), I do not recommend her or her services to anyone.
