Risky Business

“… investigators and Spokane health officials fear the number of sex partners Zuriel Roush exposed to the virus could be as high as 80. If that’s true, the case could create an unprecedented health problem for the Inland Northwest.” http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/may/29/dozens-may-face-hiv-risk/

So why in 2009, do people still engage in unprotected sex– with strangers?

The question I would be asking is “Why would 80 people want to have sex with this person?”

Gosh I wonder if maybe allowing gays to enter into solemnized committed monogamous relationships otherwise known as marriage might reduce promiscuity in the gay community. Naw, lets just let them be pariahs from society, reject them from our homes, neighborhoods, and churches in the vain hope they’ll adopt healthier behavior.

    /sarcasm

Larry Craig may have some insight about your question ….

Sis, my sister is gay and she isn’t married and she doesn’t go around sleeping with everything that moves. This guy is just a pervert pure and simple. There are hetro preverts, bi-sexual perverts and there are gay perverts. This is not about his sexual orientation at all.

BTW, the guy who turned him in to the police was married. What does that make him? He is just another a sexually disturbed pervert in my book…

Bent, yes I hijacked the thread to make a point. I would think a lobbyist could identify policy rationales when he sees them. For example, another lobbyist, Bryan Fischer, often uses gay promiscuity and the spread of disease as a reason to demonize them. As a society we’re somewhat complicit in promoting it when we shun them from institutions like marriage. He may be mentally ill, or a ‘pervert’, or perhaps just confused and certainly society isn’t solely to blame for his crimes. The hypocrisy of Larry Craig perhaps is a better example. Or maybe the same example. Why would society promote the idea that people need to live a lie?

um, if legalizing same-sex marriage will prevent this sort of behavior, could someone please explain to me right now why some heterosexual men also engage in this sort of behavior with women???
The only reason the numbers are lower with heterosexuals is because there are probably fewer women than men willing to engage in this sort of uber promiscuous behavior.

Look at the men for men ads on craigslist sometimes, unprotected sex is rampart there, and what is with all the married guys looking for sex from a man?

imagine what germs the men are taking home to their wives. yuck!
