Deanna:
I appreciate those who voted for me. and I want to thank them. This was a difficult election for all of us, both incumbents and challengers. I believe that we need to carefully look at the issues in this race and see what we can do better. When almost half the voters support the challengers and their message, its a message to me that we need to respect their views and listen to what they are saying. I plan to do exactly that.
Question: Will the Bloem administration and the City Council make more changes re: the marching orders that Lake City Development Corp. have?

Hopefully they will listen to the fact that roughly 50% of the people didn’t want them back. Hopefully the Mayor will look at all the votes that were cast against her, in favor of someone whose campaign chest amounted to two nickels rubbed together. Disappointingly the post election comments seemed to indicate more of the same from the incumbents. Only Woody’s post election comments reflected much concern about what the people that voted against him were concerned about.

What universe do you live in laughing? It must be a wonderful place to visit.

It is careless and extremely premature to make an assumption based upon comments made mere moments after an election. But the fact that Kunka was able to get as many votes as he did despite doing little more than filing campaign paperwork and purchasing 6 signs does speak to a fair amount of voter discontent; what is says remains to be determined.

Is listening harder the same as hardly listening?
Just wondering.

I hope Ms Goodlander is completely sincere in what she is saying. I know she believes the things she spins, but if her actions will follow her words then there is hope.

Actually laughing when you do the math less than 15% of the citizens of Coeur d’Alene voted against the incumbents. The highest number of votes cast in the Cd’A races was for the Mayor’s seat= 6,325. Coeur d’Alene has roughly 45,000 people, so 85% of them either cannot vote for various reason, or they are content not to vote, or they voted to keep the incumbents. Hardly “50% of the people,” but nice try…

What a class answer from Deanna she has an excellent point, put in words that can foster positive discussion of the issues. Mucho Respecto for her humility, a side I have not seen before. Thus one point is proven, dissent makes us better.
OFCoffee offered the best post election evaluation you can write. Some of which I copied below:
…..growing feeling that the city is going to the public trough for “projects” a bit too quickly….they want more tough questions asked, and maybe someone who can play devil’s advocate on the council.
I feel that was exactly the message sent by voters. The challenge ahead; to come together in a respectful way and tackle the upcoming problems Kootenai County and the City share together.

Deanna needs to cut her ties to LCDC before I’ll buy any of her post election rhetoric.
