Bill Sali To Republicans: Unite!

Item: Sali: GOP needs unity/Tom Hasslinger, Coeur d’Alene Press

More Info: Former U.S. Congressman Bill Sali had a message for his fellow conservatives: Unite. But before Sali spoke to the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans during their meeting at the Lake City Senior Center on Thursday evening, he addressed rumors about him throwing his hat back in Idaho’s political ring. “I know there are rumors out there,” he said leading up to his speech. “But I didn’t start any of them. That’s just a product of the rumor mill.” “I’m not here to make any kind of announcement tonight,” he said, kicking off his address.

Question: Would you like to see Bill Sali run for Congress again?

No, IMO, Minnick is a better republican than Sali.

    Oh the irony

Sali telling Republicans to unite is like……

I haven’t been able to complete the analogy yet. might be a good thread.

A mental patient advising the medical staff that supervises him?

I’d like to see him run for entertainment purposes only. And I’d like to see him lose.

“No, IMO, Minnick is a better republican than Sali”.

Minnick, used to be a republican. So, how can the dems be too disappointed with Minnick, knowing this?

If he walks like a republican, talks like a republican, acts like a republican, he is a …………………….

As a Republican, I would not want to see Sali run again. Even though I, actually, didn’t think he was THAT bad policy-wise, his personality greatly hindered his ability to get things done for our district.

Part of his problem was, he forgot that the U.S. Congress is a far cry from representing Kuna in the Idaho Legislature, and what flies in one won’t fly in the other. It would have been like Butch Otter, when he was in Congress, putting on his old canary-yellow jacket, pounding the table, and voting “not just no, but Hell no!” Butch, obviously, knew better. Sali didn’t.

The only reason Sali won the primary the first time is that he seemed to be the conservative most likely to stop well-funded RINO Sheila Sorensen in the crowded primary. The second time was that he lacked a serious conservative challenger. If he tries this time, he will come in third in the primary behind Ward and Roberts (from whom he would siphon a lot of votes).

Totally ineffective. Google his name; there’s a lot of entertainment in his comments.

Absolutely not…I had to cross my beloved party lines in the last election because of that man. Please, in the name of anything sacred or revered, do not allow that guy to run as a Republican in any race, I don’t care if it is for Municipal Glee Club or the Basket Weaving association. Keep that man out of public office.

    Okay…I can breathe now.

The guy would do better running for a show on Comedy Central.

He invoked mixed feelings among us Ron Paulers. On the one hand, Phil Hart thinks highly of him, and that carries alot of weight, but on the other hand, Sali just didn’t understand what drives Paleo-conservatism and the alternative right. Few do, I suppose.
