Question: Should New York have conducted the parade in light of the tragedy at Fort Hood, Texas?

Good question. I certainly do not pretend to know the answer to that question. I could ask other questions, however. Should anybody in the U.S. go out to dinner tonight or have a beer? Should anybody go to the LCHS-CHS game tonight, should it even be held? Should the U of I play their football game tomorrow? Far smarter people than I have to make those decisions.

I guess the real question here is if there should EVER be a parade celebrating a Yankees victory. Whatever else may be going on in the world.

Well, baseball resumed in 2001 after the Twin Towers fell…I don’t really see anything wrong with the Yankee Parade; with all due respect, things like the Fort Hood Incident happen beyond our control…if we postponed everything because there was a disaster somewhere, we’d probably never celebrate anything anywhere anymore.
