I wonder what the code violation was, as well as what the code says as to how long players are suspended. Perhaps there is a state play-off (vs. LC) exception? Don't know. On the other hand, there is such a thing as punishing teenage high schoolers too much for an indiscretion. Missing out on the Kansas City tie breaker was a HUGE punishment and one that could have, and may still, haunt them for the rest of their lives. At some time the punishment does not match the code violation. Should any teenager who violates a code be punished for the rest of their life, or should the code violator be be taught a lesson—which occurred here—and let them move on? I am glad that they are being allowed the opportunity to play in this game. At some point high school administrators and coaches need to get a grip and remember they are still kids, although big and strong kids. I give the CHS leaders high marks for making this decision. Congratulations.

All athletes sign a code of conduct. If they violated it they know what the penalties are and they should get that penalty. If they didnt violate it, no penalty. The code of conduct is pretty straight forward. I dont think any congratulations are in order.
