Tricia Jo Webster/Fabulocity writes: “I found this “Life is Crap” cup during my inaugural visit to Halpin’s, one of the Valley’s hidden treasures. OK, really – sitting prominently on the corner of Bowdish and Sprague with a sign that can be seen from space without a telescope – it’s not all that hidden … I’d simply never before taken the time to stop in. I’d heard the place mentioned in conversation. I’d driven past it at least 1,037 times. But last week I stopped a lady to ask her where she’d gotten her purse – a strappy black bag weaved from seat belts, very cool – and she said “Halpin’s.” That did it. It was time for a visit.” More here.
Question: What’s your favorite slogan on a coffee mug that you own?

Tricia Jo, that cup is worth at least a half rack of Bent Beer.

Years ago I had a tee shirt and a mug that said, “Save a whale, harpoon a fat chick.” They are both gone, mug broke and tee shirt got to small.

I used to have a coffee mug with hippos and elephants in various ballet poses. The caption read, “Life is not a dress rehearsal.” Someone stole it. ;-(

“I only have a kitchen because the house came with it.”
My mug got broken, and I have my suspicions as to the identity of the culprit.

“Coffee, the one hundred percent natural replacement for sleep”
I also have a pair of mugs I got at OMSI over in Portland. One has the chemical diagram for caffeine; the other the chemical diagram for chocolate.
I have a lot of mugs, but these are some of my faves. Not counting the ones I pick up at Dunkin Donuts on our yearly forays back to Boston. Those don’t have cute slogans on them

Of course the one that says “I’m a real Athol without my coffee.”

At friends’ house for dinner last night I drank from a mug with a bunch of bunnies, some of which were “doin’ it.” That reminded me that for a bunch of years in my past, I had a moose mug like that. That was a good one.

Oh Arpie! I think my 84-year old mother has that cup. She also has one with bears. Same theme. And one other that i gave her that says, “Mom, I’ll always love you. But I may never forgive you for using spit to wash my face.”
These are the coffee mugs we use at the cabin in Minnesota. Once a year. Whether we want to or not. ;-)

I also have one from Seattle with a big ole picture of a crab on it It says “Crabby without my coffee”. Clever, eh?

My favorite cup is the one the newsroom gave me when I escaped the Press… It says: “S**t Creek Survior: up and back without a paddle”
