Fresno State 31, Idaho 21

The first ominous sign for fans inside the Kibbie Dome had to be the sight of quarterback Nathan Enderle warming up with his non-throwing hand. Enderle was a no-go Saturday night with a bruised rotator cuff, and it didn’t matter what sort of decoy Idaho coaches tried to throw at Fresno State. The way things spiraled out of control early, no gimmick was going to work. With their starting quarterback sidelined, the Vandals quickly came undone in a 31-21 loss to the Bulldogs. It was Idaho’s first home loss of the season, and it came in a much-anticipated Western Athletic Conference showdown. There would be no miracle comeback like last week against Louisiana Tech, though UI (7-3, 4-2) certainly made things interesting in the fourth quarter/Josh Wright, Sportslink. ESPN boxscore here.

In deep without Enderle.(8-4,5-3)will still be a very good season for the Vandals, and that’s not a given. They’ve come a long way and we’re all proud.Akey coach of the year.Go Vandals.

How is it with the technology of today we seem to be moving backwards? First the auto manufactures stopped installing turn signals on cops cars and now they no longer make straps to hold helmets on. What the heck?

OK Lewis, I’ll bite. How do turn signals and helmet straps apply to this sports thread???

Don - look at the photo. :-P

It was a good game. If the Vandals could play like they do in the 4th quarter of most games for the first three quarters of the game we’d be 10-0 this season!

True enough, Digger, but I’m just glad the Vandals can play so well in the second half this year. Remember last year, or the year before? They’d put forward a good effort the first half, and fall apart the second.

I’m just so darned delighted the Vandals are doing so well this year. Did ANYONE expect they would have SEVEN wins (so far) this season? Even if the loss on Saturday was disappointing, it was only because they’ve performed so much better than expected all season long. What an amazing turnaround!
