All Yours For The Right Bid

As you know, I’m deeply indebted for the terrific job that CindyH does filling in for me while I’m on vacation. But saying thanks doesn’t seem to be enough. So I figured I’d post this photo (monster hat tip to Sue) of a fundraiser planned by the Festival at Sandpoint. Apparently, firefighters (6 of the above firemen) at the Sandpoint Fire Department are offering 2 full days of labor — 96 hours total — to the home or business that turns in the highest bid. And this is just one of the 180 silent and live auction items that you can bid on at Holly Eve Saturday. (Call for tickets at 265-4554 and see below for more information)

Question: Now, what could you do with six firefighters for 96 total hours?

‘Tis the official start of the holiday season - Holly Eve! A festive evening filled with extraordinary hors d’oeuvres from area restaurants, complimentary champagne or sparkling cider, and auction items a’plenty will be had by all who attend the Holly Eve gala, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Sandpoint Events Center. This year’s entertainment includes the Sandpoint High School Men’s Choir and Performing Choir, followed by on-stage performances from the Sandpoint Youth Orchestra and Danceworks. Silent auction and live auction proceeds benefit The Festival at Sandpoint, Community Cancer Services, Bonner Community Hospice, Pend Oreille Arts Council and the Panida Theater. Tickets are $25, available at Eve’s Leaves, Panhandle State Bank, and the Festival at Sandpoint office in the Power House building.

O my - they could keep rescuing me - over and over and over.

((DFO)) It’s your birthday, yet you got ME a present!
    *sniff* You are so thoughtful.

But you know darn well I can’t answer that question without you promptly deleting my response.
Btw, you can keep the guy with the mop and all the lady firefighters.
    Just saying.

Cindy, what have you got against mops?

  • trishgannon on November 20 at 12:03 p.m.

Actually, those ‘lady firefighters’ are our Festival gals, Dyno, Carol, Toni and Tamara.

Is it just my computer that plays “come on baby, light my fire” whenever that picture shows up?

Why is only ONE of the male firefighters sans his shirt? Come on boys, if I’m going to bid, I want to see the goods in advance.

On a more serious note, I had a garage fire last weekend and was amazed at how quickly the fire department got there, got the fire knocked down, helped me switch around some wiring so that I could still have power to the house, and then told me to call if I needed anything.

Sigh… it’s amazing the lengths I’ll go to in order to get firemen to my house. And fire women. There were three who showed up with the guys and worked every bit as hard.

I must be getting old. I’d have them rake my yard and paint my house.

Ha! Scootermom, that was a good response. But DFO, you might wanna change the question a bit. After all, this is a family blog. :)
