re: “Reagan Republicans have tried to make an issue of Councilwoman Deanna Goodlander’s Republican pedigree?” — Huckleberries.
I certainly have never said anything about Deanna’s “pedigree” or “credentials.” We may have had members discuss this but we never have commented as a club. The only email exchange I recall involved members of Republican Women but not our members. Actually the only question of “republican-ness” brought up by a member was about Dan Gookin, by member Duane Rasmussen, but he is completely back in the fold after being satisfied by Dan’s authenticity/Jeffrey Ward, president, Reagan Republicans. Full e-mail here.
DFO: I’m publishing Jeff’s letter to correct the error that I made on Huckleberries. Mea culpa.
Question: Jeff goes on to say that the Reagan Republicans are “a big tent group.” Considering the group’s actions in the Coeur d’Alene municipal campaigns, would you agree with that statement?

Big tent… as in circus? Sure, I’ll agree with that.

I posted this on the wild card last night but it somehow seems more appropriate here.

“… we have the ability to endorse in a race
between two Republicans. We choose Dan Gookin … .”
WHAT???? Dan Gookin is a Republican now? WHAT???? I’m not sure what Mr. Ward has been told but I will only believe this to be true when I hear it from Dan Gookin himself. The Reagan Republicans have a track record for speaking on “behalf” of candidates but I prefer to hear from the candidate.

mamma. Actually, a VERY good point. (and no I didn’t say that because Mr. Big might be watching). I repeat, a VERY good (and solid) point.

Why is this election so partisan? I thought this was a non-partisan election?Where ideas and the issues are supposed to come to the fore.
Bent on October 30 at 9:37 a.m.
Kage, quit please… you are cracking me up.

“The Reagan Republicans have a track record for speaking on “behalf” of candidates but I prefer to hear from the candidate”.
Haven’t we had 5 forums recently, where we could here the candidates speak? And doesn’t any democratic club endorse candidates? Hard to believe their sitting on the fence and not endorsing anyone.
Bent, at least COFFERS have their own sense of humor. ;-)

Geez, Kage — come on man — look at both of your statements on this thread…go ahead, I’ll wait…
Do you see any conflicts with the thinking there?
Kage, you make things way too easy…

Bent:
I was just responding to MamaJD’s comment.

Let’s analyze this for a minute Kage…
In your 9:28 post you are complaining that the city elections have become too partisan because MamaJD questions Gookin’s pedigree, and 24 minutes later you are complaining that the democrats haven’t taken this goofball republican group’s bait and endorsed a candidate…
Are you that conflicted, Kage? Do you need a break?

I’ll believ that when I see “Republican” tatooed on Dan Gookin’s @ss!
Kage_Mann on October 30 at 11:17 a.m.
Some people think this is a partisan race. The democrats do; MikeK goes to Boise to enlist the help of the democratic machine and they help him raise money for the election.
moscow_minidoka on October 30 at 11:46 a.m.
Yeah, that “democratic machine” down in Boise is a huge threat to CDA. I’m sure the whole idea for LCDC was hatched in a liberal backroom in downtown Boise as a ploy to destroy CDA.
