FOIA: Marine Letter To Ward Aired

The U.S. Marine Corps has released its letter asking Idaho GOP congressional candidate Vaughn Ward to comply with Department of Defense regulations regarding campaign activity by members of the armed forces. The Marine Corps questioned a $2,500 click ad that pictured Ward in uniform and appeared on the Drudge Report on March 31 and April 1. See the letter from Brig. Gen. Richard L. Simcock, II. Simcock leads the Office of Legislative Affairs for the Marine Corps. Ward is a Marine major, assigned to 28 days of duty at the office. Also, read the Statesman story about Ward's violation of the Defense directive, “Political Activities by Members of the Armed Forces”/Dan Popkey, Idaho Statesman. More here.
