NIC Cheerleader Can Handle Money

Meet Carissa Kuchenski, a North Idaho College cheerleader, who's the cover girl of the latest Numerica magazine. Carissa talks about starting a checking account in 2007 and learning to budget because a lot of her classmates were spending their money on frivolous things. Quoth Carissa: "I always had to be really responsible (with my money) because I had to pay for all of my sports." You can read the entire "member profile" here.

Question: How old were you when you started managing your own money? And/or: Who balances the checkbook in your family?
